I have to take a laxative every night. Why ? I eat vegetables and fruits and still have to.

I also have these kinds of problems but they’re due to pain meds.

Do you drink enough fluids (I don’t) and exercise enough to assist your body? Those both could be factors. I decided a long time ago not to start with laxatives as they have their own problems. I’ve only had to use them once.

I should have mentioned that while this is an ongoing problem for me I don’t pay much attention but at the 2 week mark knew I had to resolve before I ended up going to the ER with an impacted bowel. A friend of mine had to do just recently and said it was the worst pain she had ever experienced.

I took two Ducolox and it worked although I have to admit that it was like giving birth to the extent that I can imagine that.

I do totally understand. I eat healthy all the time. I have to take laxatives to. That sucks! Before my diagnosis I was going everyday and not eating like I should but now with my diagnosis and eating healthier I can't go everyday. 😕 I guess it is what it is. I gotta find a new way. I hope things get better for you. ❤🌷

Froglady, Yes, M.S. does suck! I too have this problem, our brains & guts are connected, go to amazon Kindle & get "Healing Multiple Sclerosis", by Ann Boroch, really great read about these issues. Helped me manage. Blessings🙏👍💐💗😍---Jazzy🌹💜

froglady,

There are many different things that cause constipation- certain medicines, not drinking enough water,

partly genetic. The best thing we can do is eat healthy and exercise. My Dr. recommended Miralax. It's certainly helped me.

Best Regards,

Leslie

Same thing, clean diet by don't always go. Dr said can do Miralax 2x day if needed. Ask if ok. Controlled bm if you know what I mean. Also do magnesium at night and ta da coffee in am along with breakfast.

I think a lot of factors. I had one dr tell me so what if you don't go but once a week. I thought you try it. But I didn't say anything,, trying to be humble. Best of luck with your efforts Bonnie

I wish. My auto-immune MS opened me up to another auto-immune disease (besides my RA, too.) I now have collagenous colitis. At my worst I could not leave the house as I was going with explosive diarrhea for 17 to 20 times a day! I'd lost 20 pounds in 2 weeks. The worst thing ever! Still have it, no cure - sounds familiar... But it's more manageable now.
