Oh my goodness Sandra, you are one tough cookie. Sorry but I don’t know anything about your healthcare system, but listening to your story, I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. I am so sorry that you have had to endure what you have, breast cancer is not to be taken lightly and the drugs they give you play havoc with your body. Rest up as the doctor has told you, and recover properly, you were maybe trying to do too much too soon. Blessings Jimeka 🦋 🍫 🤗
I don't have an answer for you, unfortunately, but I surely hope you are doing better, and I hope you can get a stair lift installed. Is moving an option at all if the stair lift can't be done?
Let us know what you find out. I know we're all concerned about you.
I don’t know anything about Medicare yet. I have had my share of spectacular falls but nothing close to that. I’m glad your injuries were not worse! When I had a two-story house, I’d slip on the stairs regularly. I knew it was just a matter of time before I did something worse than bumps and bruises. The staircase was too narrow for a stair lift so I decided to move. I also didn’t want anything else to maintain. I love living in a one story place. It’s quite freeing.
sandras1 Long ago, when Al Capp's Lil' Abner cartoons were in the paper, he had a minor character Joe B$^#$@ !#, a sad little fellow who always had a black cloud overhead. Somehow your description embodies that troubled character. But, like Mammy Yokum, you just pull up your socks, set your jaw and go forward. You are amazing and so obviously capable, that you will find the solution to obtaining a stair lift. I wish I had something other than encouragement and support to offer but I'm guessing that there are answers to your question here and a way to resolve the issue. It makes pragmatic as well as economic sense to keep all of us safe and functional in our own homes!
I am sooo sorry for you, things come in bunches,if I were you I would have cried many times, glad you didn't break anything! and you still have a plateful! If I were you I would contact a chair manufacturer, they probably have answers how to get finanaced, they sell a lot of them,I am sure they want to sell more, after they hear your story they may give you one, we can wish bless you pam
C contacted MS Society I'm getting one for free they'll send a case worker over to your house and evaluate your needs I may be also getting someone in to help me like getting groceries good luck
Oh my goodness! You have really been smacked with a lot! I am so very sorry. I do not have any advice, but I do have lots of love for fellow ms gals and guys. So here comes a giant hug and the hope you get everything figured out. Love, Kelly P.S. it is so very frightening to fall down the stairs, like slow motion, knowing how bad it is going to hurt!
