I would like to know who use a stair lifter in their home and what is your opinion about the use and maintenance of a stair lifter? My physiatrist told me that it would cut down on my fatigue. Psychologically, fretting over it. It seems I need a new device for mobilization. Ugh...

Stair Lifter
I don't use one, but if I needed it, I would get one.
My best friend put one in for his wife in a split entry home about seven years ago, worked great with little normal maintenance. Two years ago she progressed and not able to use anymore. Dang......he was able to sell it very easily and helped to install for new owner. I used it several times when I went over😊 Nice item👍
My husband and kids bought me one 3+ years ago. It's a great help! I never realized how much I went up and down the stairs. It doesn't take much maintenance. I wipe down the rails to keep it dust and dog fur free (with a bleach wet wipe). My husband greases it once a year. The gentleman who installed it, made these suggestions to keep it working without problems. We didn't bother paying for the extended warranty. They had several options, but the prices were absurd! I really love mine and use it multiple times a day.
Yes we did purchase Acorn stairlift
I had one installed 8 years ago on a curved staircase. It has been great. i have had it checked out twice by the installation company and something broke once, but otherwise no problems. I would be going up and down the stairs on my backside if I didn't have one.
I had been staying in the downstairs bedroom with a small bathroom and small shower. This was for safety reasons as my wife was worried about me falling down the stairs. We put in a stair lift, I am now going back upstairs to a big bedroom and a big shower, wth a shower hair and grab handles. I feel one cannot be too careful.
I finally had Acorn stairlift installed in our house and one to the basement. They gave us a good discount for purchasing two. The company was excellent in locating a home/person where I could see and try-out the stairlift before purchasing. I definitely like it for the basement otherwise I wouldn’t go down 12 steps with my bad knee. It took a while for me to get use of having the stairlift visible in the house on our curved steps (psychologically). It was like telling the world my problem with steps. Then i said to myself, everyone knows I have MS. Get over it! It saves me so much energy. I am glad we purchased the stairlift. Thanks to you all for sharing your experiences.
