Ocrevus OMG

So for those of you that know I started OK best back in May and my next treatment should be in November . In addition my symptoms have not gotten better they in fact have gotten worse my doctor is entertaining putting me on another MS medication along with Ocrevus which makes no sense to me . If Ocrevus stops the progression of the disease then the goal would be to only take that medication and no other. I am absolutely confused

Idk about that. I haven’t read about using other DMTS along with Ocrevus. It seems that it will lower your immune system too much. But I’m not a doctor. Hope everything works out for you. Keep us informed

Never heard of that before. I would read up on that and ask your neurologist. Keep us informed please, thank you 😊

I don’t think it works 100%, isn’t it only 80% at best when compared to Rebif? Maybe add the Rebif and get 120%?

I don’t see why Copaxone and all the others would not be ok together, and I have often wondered why it’s not being done. Perhaps the same could be said for the interferons? Why are there not more aggressive options and combinations of the drugs we already have 🤷‍♀️ I hope whatever your MD comes up with, that it works! Please share what happens. You’re lucky to have a MD that isn’t saying you’re out of options, but just hope this one helps slow the inevitable.

So sorry to hear this 🙁

While I haven't heard of 2 drug DMT regimens it makes sense if the 2 drugs have differing mechanisms of action. We use this approach to treat hypertension and diabetes.

I am scheduled for my first full dose September 4th. After receiving the first two half doses, I felt I was getting worse too. My neuro said to give it until it is time for the third dose. It does not really kick in until after the second dose has time to take effect. If I am not feeling any better 6 months after Sept dose, I am switching back to Plegridy.

I've not heard of 2 DMT'S being used either but since my first dose in April I have had to be on multiple medications due to my weakened immune system.

Do to all the infections and antibiotics. I'm writing this from my hospital bed where I'm being treated for a fungal infection that I got for being on so many antibiotics.

But on the positive side I have not had any exacerbations.

Not what you're looking for?
