My husband needs a break. He does everything for me and I can tell he is wiped and stressed out. I use a walker. What about a cruise that somebody enjoyed for the less mobile? I would love to rent an RV and go to Yellowstone (thanks Kenu) but it seems like a lot of planning and I'm sure the sites are all booked. Help me pretty please.

VACATON IDEAS PLEASE
Does he enjoy visiting people he hasn't seen in a while? Like old school friends or
relatives?

Ask him what he would like to do.
a cruise is a brilliant idea. Never get off the ship just stay on board and relax.
We went on a Cruise 🚢 and it was fun but was lead around like cattle 🐄. Did not like set dinner times and crowd of people. I would much rather have a road trip or go to a specific place and set my own time to do what I want. After labor day Yellowstone will quite right down and be a lot nicer time 👍. I think there are a lot of cool places to see right here in 🇺🇸. Lots of other countries are getting scary to visit. Been to Mexico several times and great food, service, and fun. Just stay away from boarder towns. Hope you find somewhere fun 👍🙏🐾Ken
A cruise would be great. I have been on 10 and feel so good while cruising. Maybe its because I am always moving or rocking or vertigo. You will love it and such great service, they spoil you. You both might need that.
SometimesCrazy How lovely that you think of your husband's need for a break! As Kdali has suggested, ask him what he'd like to do. Cruises may need a lot of prior planning, as well as an airline flight to the city where a ship is berthed. Think of local places that are less congested after Labor Day: a mountain community, a beach town, a place you have always wanted to explore. A good hotel/motel will treat you well and offer many amenities. Small scale might be easier to manage on short notice. If it isn't what he wants to do, it might not provide him with the relaxation you'd like him to experience. Good luck! Enjoy what ever you choose to do!!
I do not know where you live, but I can tell you that my state of Utah boasts some magnificent national and state parks, with great lodging. Also the mountain towns, like Park City, an old miner’s town is pure heaven. It is where the 2002 Olympics were held. Great eats! Some lovely lodges with great amenities. Just a thought. Of course, I love to cruise. Kelly
I have an electric wheelchair that I use for longer distances. It really take a burden off of my wife. She is a trooper like your husband. We recently went to Yellowstone and up into Canada. Unfortunately, Glacier National Park is on fire (it wasn’t me!)
Don’t let the lack of mobility dictate what you can or cannot do. Cruise ships are a nice way to go, the crew is very accommodating to get you on and off the ship. I had a manual chair for my Alaska trip and even though you can’t go some places, it was very fun. Since you still have a walker, you can fold it up and tie it to the chair for those places that are not ADA compliant. You and your husband can enjoy many things together. Just let it happen.
