Hello everyone :)

I was diagnosed with relapsing remitting MS in October of 2008. I fell at work, hitting my head and being unconscious for a minute or so. Because L&I had to be involved, they sent me to various drs. One doctor noticed I had problems with standing up while in a squatting position. He scheduled an MRI, and the rest is history. I have to say, although I don't like having MS, finding out and reading the symptoms, I had answers to so many problems. Falling, bowel & bladder mishaps, dragging my right foot, just to name a few. And the heat, I can barely handle the heat!!!! I have been using Avonex since the beginning. I know there is other meds, but this works for me. I am proud that I am still working. I drive a great big yellow school bus!! Sometimes it's hard to walk to my bus and climbing the steps, but I keep on going because I love this job. I have done it for 16 years. Unless God wants me out of this amazing job that He directed me to, I will be doing it for a while to come!!!

Good for you for staying positive and continue to work 👍. Maybe look into a afo for foot drop and a cooling vest for the hot days. Also welcome to our crazy 😜 group of MSers. Great place to vent and find out lots of information about MS and living with it 🙏😉🐾 Ken

Welcome BarbL223 from another Washingtonian! There is a broad spectrum of people dealing with MS here. We are a wide range of ages and experiences here. It’s great that you can still work. I had to retire 2 years ago and I miss being productive and contributing.
