Well, I lived through the dreaded cortisone shot in my bursa (hip) this morning. As the ortho doctor was leaning over my expose, naked backside I told him he was viewing my best side. Trying to make light of the ginormous needle he was about to stick into me!

Cortisone shot
I like your sense of humor! How long does it take before the shot provides relief?
Hopefully soon! This was a hip doctor. If it doesn't work he's sending me to a back doctor... It better work!

I'm glad you survived the shot. How does it help
you?
Leslie
We shall see. My hip was killing me. They're thinking an inflamed bursa (which explains the shot.) Question: If the bursa is inflamed, how does sticking it with a huge needle help it???
I see your point Is this doctor the right one for you?
Leslie
Yes, I'm sure he is. He really was nice and we'll see if the meds he injected makes things better. Besides, once the needle is out it feels much better than it did when the needle was in there!
Hope it helps. When my ex-boyfriend would get shots in his back for pain, the injections usually helped within the next day or so. But everyone is different. Please keep us updated mrsmike9

You're a brave soul! I hope this brings down the inflammation quickly, so you get relief from that pain.
Keep laughing. It's therapeutic to the rest of us, too!
Ho, ouch, I can feel that needle from here. They are suggesting that I have them in my neck, but the jury is still out on that. I must say you have a great sense of humour, I laughed, sorry but couldn’t help myself, hope it works, blessings Jimeka 💉 🤗
I had my second bursa hip shot last month. My hip is a wee bit better. Hope you have better luck!
As of today it's starting to be a wee bit ouchy again. Crap... Hopefully it is only a dip in the road...
I agree that cortisone is the most painful shot I’ve ever had and I think I’ve had them all.
Hope it works for you.
Donnie
The one in the bursa was not nearly as bad as the one in my shoulder (thank God). Hope it's working as well. It was doing well but it's starting to be uncomfortable again today...
