New Issue...PAIN

Hi Everyone..it's so great to have this forum to go to right now. I have a new issue that's really upsetting me. I'm pretty sure it's MS related. I've started getting these sharp little "lightening bolts" type pains in my upper thigh....just started out of the blue. They just start/stop at random times and they're almost debilitating... like a have to grab on to something so I don't fall over! I'm an avid exercise person, always have been...so I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but I can't have this new problem interfere with my work out regimen! I know I have to get with my doctor, but I need to know something QUICKLY! Thanks Everyone. )

I think many of us have somewhat atypical pains that come on abruptly and with no explanation. I know I tend to assume it’s MS, and yours may be, but I’m glad you’re not ignoring it and are seeing your doctor. Feel better soon.

Thanks so much greaterexp. Yes, it's definitely upsetting me. I'm praying I can get some answers quickly. Thank you again for replying.

I know that it would be nice to get quick answers to these type of events. There is nothing nice about this MS monster. I know exactly what you are talking about. They used to shoot straight up my spine and they are very unnerving {no pun intended} even painful. I don't believe there is much you can do. It was so long ago. Mine lasted for about a week at a time. but it is best you talk to your neurologist about it. At the time I just had to suffer with it. I really hope you find help with it. I would be interested to know you your findings are.

I had something similar a couple months ago 🤷🏼‍♂️ It seemed to happen in the evening and I would lay down and a sharp tingling pain in my left thigh. It was right on the verge of being very painful 😣 and then after about five to ten minutes it would go away 🤷🏼‍♂️. I think it had to do with stress. I was also starting to do more and wondered if it was the more exercise I was getting 🤷🏼‍♂️ after about four weeks it went away and have not had it for a month or so 🤷🏼‍♂️. I think it was just the MS acting up. Good luck and hope it subside soon 👍🙏🐾 Ken

Wow, thanks Ken. That was great information! I'm under alot of stress these days also, so maybe that's playing a role in it, as it was with you. I've exercised all my life, so I know it's not that, unless it's my body going through some changes (NEGATIVE ONES!) That's my big worry, truthfully. But thank you so much for making an effort to help me! And everyone else out there...so awesome. THIS is why I'm such a "people-person"! Thank you everybody!

That is kind of how my whole ordeal started years ago. I was quite ready to have the leg removed it was so bad.

I ended up getting a couple of rounds of cortisone shots in my back to finally relieve the pain.

I have the same kind of pains that get me on my side rather than my hip. They usually start when I'm stressed. Stress is the worse thing for people with MS, although it's not much good for anyone. That's usually one of my triggers that I'm stressing too much, whether its mental or physical stress. I don't usually get very stressed mentally anymore as I have found out that if there is nothing I can do about it then there is no use worrying about it. I just let go & let God worry about it. But if I over stress physically (too hot, too cold, over doing physically) then I back down & realize I just can't do that anymore. It was hard at first but living without pain seemed to be a little more important than being able to so what I was always able to do before. I hope you find out what it causing your problem sooner than later. Dr's can seem to take their time dx our problems due to MS, as they have to rule out everything else first.
