Does Anyone Else Feel Like They’re Sitting On a Washing Machine?

I’ve had MS for almost 17 years now. Other than numbness on my right side, I didn’t have any other symptoms until a few years ago. Since then everything has come at me pretty fast. My walking has caused me to use a walker full time, I’ve had 2 surgeries to try to get control of the VERY painful Trigeminal Neuralgia, and now when I sit down I have a continuous yet soothing vibration from my pelvic down. Sometimes it covers my whole body. I can even feel it in my lips! It’s just an internal vibration that lasts a long time. Anyone else have this???

I get a similar feeling but only on the inside of my calf and inner side of my foot...right side only. I will be asking my doctor about that when I see him this week. It's like a vibrating electric pulse. But, I can't imagine it covering so much of the body so maybe it's entirely different. I wonder if your nerves could be inflamed or if you are crimping a nerve when you sit or something? Hmmmm. I don't know. I would definitely ask my doctor about it if I were you. I also remember Topamax (migraine maintenance drug) giving me odd sensations. Just thinking out loud (or in writing anyway). I have no knowledge about what is causing this for you. I hope you are able to find relief and get some of those symptoms settled down.

It's funny you mentioned this. I had an episode a few nights ago of a feeling like that of my face. When I woke up, it was gone. I agree that this is info to share with your doctor. I'm glad it's not too annoying!

Lately I’ve been having some feelings like that but the weather here has been up and done now the next 3 days are supposed to go up into the high 70tis but right now the temperature is in the 40tis my legs also get cold and I have raynards. I am not sure either what is going on.

I haven’t been walking that much that could be it also.

I guess I’m no help sorry about that I’m hoping it will get a little bit warmer at least in my house because my heating is still going on.

I have that feeling a lot from my chest down through my pelvic area. mostly noticeable at night, even wakes me up. Sometimes it travels a bit beyond that area. I think it is probably always there, just more aware if it when everything is still and quiet. I had mentioned it to several doctors over the years. Even thought it was my heart because of the pulsating electrical kind of feeling in my chest. After several tests and heart monitoring, nope, not the heart. I brought it up to my MS neurologist a couple of weeks ago. I described it as the feeling one might get if they were the electricity in florescent light bulbs. A continuous vibrating, pulsating buzzz. Not painful at all. It can actually be sensual if I allow myself to go there. Doc said he thought it was electrical energy going through my spine, but because of my demylentation in the nerves going through my spine, that electrical energy was misfiring. Instead of traveling through my nerves, it was shooting outside the nerves and traveling throughout my body causing the sensation. Made sense to me.

The florescent light is an excellent analogy. But you are too funny about the sensual feelings. I lost my feeling “there” for years. But not with these vibrations. I just didn’t know how to say it as eloquently as you so I left it out.

I sometimes get the vibration feeling in my legs and feet. They are fine tremors or muscle fasciculations. If my husband places his hand on my thigh he can feel it too.

I had gamma knife for TN and it has helped. What procedures did u have?

Well since you brought up Gamma Knife make that 3 procedures I’ve had. I always forget about it because it was my first and it was outpatient. I’ve also had Micro Vascular Decompression and had a stimulator put in my chest with 2 facial leads. I’m so glad the Gamma Knife worked on you!

And I certainly hope you are getting relief too!

tinainsc Since long before I was diagnosed, I have had an odd vibrating, buzzing sensation in the pelvic region only in bed at night. It is very occasional, a half dozen times a year, so I have never mentioned it. It lasts for an hour or so, and fades if I get up. Thank you for posting. I've wondered what it was, thought perhaps bladder spasms, but thanks to you, my guess it is nerves misfiring when all is quiet and nothing else is happening.

Ok, I have had this continusly for the past 2 yrs. It's my whole body tho. The only time I don't feel it is when I'm blissfully asleep, and that split sec before you wake up. 😞

If someone knows how to get rid of it, fill me in.😭😊😊

I had that, but only once. Last year I was playing on my iPad and felt vibrations all over my body, it was really funny! It only lasted between 45 minutes to an hour. Luckily it didn’t cause me any problems.
