I went off of ampyra but still have a 90 day supply of unopened bottles. Seems like a waste to just throw it away.

What to do with remaining supply?
I think once it’s in your possession you have to keep it and dispose of them properly and legally. Because of the HIPPA laws that’s what I think. Wish you the best.
What I have done to despose of unused medicine, is bring it to my police department, they have a mail box which is marked for depositing unused medicine. I bring it there and put it in there. the reason being you don't want to through it in the trash some kid could find it an use it.
I would call the police station or/and your local pharmacy.
Some pharmacies have a medication drop off box where you can drop off unused medications that you don't need anymore. Or you can bring them to the police station. I would just use a black marker to cross your name off the label.

I know what you mean, it’s a waste, but you have to dispose of it properly 🤷🏼♂️Dang 🙏🐾🐩 Ken
I agree that it seems like a waste. If you belong to an MS support group, you could ask if anyone there could use it. Then you are giving it to someone you know.
FDA and DEA frowns upon that because once it is out of the pharmacists hands and into the consumers hands - the integrity of the drug is called into question.
I briefly thot of becoming pharmacy tech. Took the classes. Got certified and wound up working at Lowes just so i cud get hit on the head and find out i have MS 😁😁
mdernirishman13 this is really tough one..i feel the same way.I asked my doc to take some unopened seal on and nope, pharmacy, nope...kills me to throw good things away including food.Food I can give to neighbors. My husband use to work for big food chain, ordered to throw away entire carton of eggs if one was broke.Ridiculous.,How many starve in countries. In idaho I know the man over providing insurances alternatives to people...last was according to sliding scale.... Someof us don't have even the sliding scale.my point being even with low price many families it comes from food budget electricity etc no money on deductible but he is trying.as they say tri is the first part of triumph....keep on keepn on...I'm wondering if MS society has maybe an answer...if you get one share pls...
Please, just do not flush it or pour it down the drain or on the ground because it ends up in our water systems (lakes, rivers, etc.). Water filtration plants usually only filter water to remove sediments, colors and flavors then treat to kill bacteria and viruses (usually with chlorine). They do test for some other things. You would be amazed at how much female hormones are in our waters due to all of the birth controls and hormones we women take then it comes out in our urine!
If they had to do filtration for all of the drugs being flushed we would not be able to afford the water.
Mdernirishman13 At all police stations they have a drug drop off. Just pull the prescription labels off. That is the safest way to dispose of them. The law prohibits giving them to someone else.
For the cost of the drugs, someone that does not have insurance should benefit from the left over drugs, law or no law. Sometimes common sense takes presidence.
