I just read this article " Peeking Behind the Curtain at Medical Insurance Decisions" the article made wonder how many other insurance companies have the same policies as the insurance company in the article.

Oh, dear! It's frightening. This is a good reminder that we must be our own advocates and not just accept a denial as final.
rjoneslaw thats a very informative article, you come up with some relevant material. Here in the uk, I applied to the NHS for such a device, I was told by my authority that I didn't fit the criteria. I went to be fitted for one at the hospital but no one was qualified to fit it for me, so the device sits in a cupboard collecting dust. I went private for a gifting to see if it was any good but her in the uk the bioness was £8000. They had a cheaper version the pace that was £3500. The pace really worked but it's like buying a car. Anyway I have been in touch with Turbomed and a man is coming to my house to see if it is suitable for me. For those in the uk, it's £750 made to your own requirements. Service with a smile. Thank you 😊
😮 I think this is what is happening to my wife with her denial 🤷🏼♂️ With my denials on pain pump, what don’t you understand about the pump “ being at end of life “ as quoted by Medtronic the manufacturer and Doctor 🤷🏼♂️ The insurance company said that it needs to die first, then replace 🤬🤬🤬Insurance’s 🤬🤬🤬🙏🙏🙏Ken
I had a friend that worked for Humana in Florida. She said that if something is submitted after 2 denials, the third request must be reviewed by an outside form. Not sure if this is state law, but persistence may avail.
