Are you/is your family member/friend using contrast in each scan? I am curious how many are not able to do contrast due to sensitivities, or simply by choice. And... if this choice is supported by their Dr. What are the comments you have received from Dr.'s regarding your choice, ability to read MRI, no MRI requested then, etc.
In addition: How many of us have Dr.'s that are open (or becoming) to more alternative approaches in lieu of simply prescribing meds? (PT, OT, Vitamins, Herbs, etc.) Thank you.

With regard to humor posts, I thought it would be a fun idea to ponder what he was saying to help bring a smile or a chuckle (over a tear) to one another for the New Year, or any day/topic before or after... I can hear quite a few things....;)))))
I think she is saying "hello" and waiting for her echo to come back. In answer to your MRI contrast quesion, I think erash posted a link to an article about it being linked to kidney trouble.
In reference to the contrast building up in the brain, my neuro said that since there haven't been any "clinical manifestations" that I shouldn't worry about it.
Hi Hidden ! All of my MRI series have been with and without contrast. The last 5 years I've been on Tysabri so have had to go for MRI's every six months. I was not thrilled about this but it was a precaution used to watch for signs of PML. (I'm JCV+).
My neuro is open to alternative approaches in addition to conventional therapy NOT in lieu of. I've had PT a few times and take large doses of Vitamin D3 daily as examples. I don't think I personally would be open to an alternative approach as a replacement for the DMT's I've been on. (Even though I'm not enthusiastic about the risks of the biologics.) The reason I feel that way is that MS is sneaky. You might think a particular course of therapy is helping but MS could actually be causing damage in the background that you are unaware of. And when you have the RRMS form, you can't be sure what causes a symptom to go away or subside. Its all about what are you willing to risk I suppose.
Cynthia1111 Love the pic! I thnk docs have to acknowledge alternative meds or addatives in life. Many suggest massage(sp?) and found it to really help when i can get out and afford it.Beware of the pros and cons/scams.Last year i went for a massage that she wanted me to wear a crystal in my bra(OUCH)..and i ran...sorta out of the place. It was a medical therapeutic place.Sheesh. I have had both contrast and not in MRI.Found contrast showed a deeper image but now the warning yes is toxic(well its a chemical) andkidney issues etc.I do the best i can but it it can help i really pray about doing extra things.I research and if i can prepare(water water water, lemos etc) i try that.To help muscle pain I'm trying to find another hydromassage bed at a local health club.WOW does that help muscles.Diet vit D etc worth the search. Sometiems a simple routine of 8 pm a cup of chamomile...makes me feel better although it may be the rest.whatever it takes...in reason. Now this is not for me, but in idaho special cases have gummie marijuana chewies.....Just found this out and know no more about process..best wishes...
Thank you Jackiesj and Raingrrl! ;))) I truly appreciate you sharing.
Hidden He's looking up and saying "Aw H*ll, again?😒 Bring it on!)😄
As far as my Neuro using alternative meds... Well, the last time he bit*hed at me for my meds, I told him to prescribe me pot and that will take care of all of it😀😄 he wasn't amused!😄
@Jesmcd2 - as I read in my devotional book this morning, here's what I'm a gonna do:Let His Peace rule in my heart, and be thankful. While I rest in His Presence, I will take time to thank Him for the good times. For example, when my eyes become blurry, I will thank Him for those times they are not, like NOW. When my brain doesn't work, and crazy words come out, or none at all, I will thank Him for those times when my brain does work, like NOW. When I burn my arm when taking those nutritious cookies (made of ancient grain, fruits, nuts, oats, coconut rather than eating Chips Ahoy with extra chips!) out of the oven, I will thank Him for all the times I remembered to call my husband and ask him to take the stuff out of the oven! When my physical body doesn't work, my foot doesn't go where and when I want it to or my body is racked with muscle spasms, I will thank HIm for all the times the pain is tolerable and I can get out of bed, and cook a meal or dust one room. When my arm is hurting and I can't use phone or pc, I will thank Him for those days when I can still electronically communicate with the outside world! Yep! I'm a gonna wear the garment of praise and have an attitude of gratitude for 2018!!
Hidden he is singing , Jo Dee Messina & Tim McGraw - “Bring On The Rain”!
I heard this song when I was on my way to the doctor to discuss what my options were, after getting the call that said that I had breast cancer. My husband and I just smiled.
Another day has almost come and gone
Can't imagine what else could go wrong
Sometimes I'd like to hide away somewhere and lock the door
@morllyn. You will never know how much I need to have that song brought to mind.
This has truly been a trying and stressful week of hell in our house and that song sure did help give me some hope. Thank God for the time we had with our young ones for Christmas morning. Without them and our faith I don’t know if we could have made it.
The old devils been in overdrive the last week in our home. It would take a week to tell how bad this weeks been.
Doubled51 , I know what you mean. I had never heard that song before, and am not a fan of to many country songs, but that day it just resonated with both my husband and myself. Sometimes we just need a reminder that we can do this, we have the strength to go on.
Warm and happy thoughts are going out to you and your family.🙂
So true “I can’t imagine what else could go wrong” but I’ve learned not to say that cause a lot more can go wrong. Haha. I’ve always loved that song but being I don’t listen to country music I haven’t heard it in a long time but it came now at a perfect time. Thanks.
"You can dance anywhere, even if only in your heart." ~Author "Unknown"...
This one is a great challenge for me. As a former dancer, one of my greatest passions was to take my students to volunteer/share with seniors at Assisted Living Centers.
I used this phrase to inspire others, in my work, and on our shirts.
Never did I think that I would be trying to tell myself the same, only one year later... for years on end. I have blocked it all out due to the pain. Thank you for having me reflect, however painful it may be...
