Well it’s been a week and half since my diagnosis. Will see my primary Tuesday just for a routine checkup Wants to see me because of the diagnosis. I will see the neurologist next month. I can not wait. Still feeling scared but I’m still going about my life. Working but making sure I take breaks. It’s going to be hard for me I’m use to working through my breaks but I know I can’t not. Trying to stay positive still. I’ve seen the bad side but I know the treatments are better then they use to be. Trying to figure out what’s a symptom and what is normal for me.

Smartcloud1981 I know this is easy for me to say but, just go on with your normal life. Yes you should take care of yourself, take breaks when you need them, try to keep stress to a minimum, etc. but do not let it keep you from doing what you normally would. If you stop being you and do not do the things that make you happy then that adds stress to your life. Don’t be afraid. Whether you sit and do nothing, work in a garden, climb mountains or race cars MS will do what it is going to do, or not. Do what your doctor says and take care of your health but live your life. We know how bad MS can be, just look around, but we don’t know how bad it actually will be for you. Many people go through life with MS and do not have major disability so do not let the fear of what it can do keep you from enjoying life.

It’s like I’ve told everyone at work. I’m going to keep doing my job till I can’t anymore. I’m still living doing what I normally do just stopping sometimes to sit or rest.

You may want to keep a journal of your symptoms, time a day you feel them, how long they last, etc., and let the neurologist decide if it's MS or not. Maybe there's a pattern to the symptoms. Good luck to you! I hope this month goes fast.

Started the journal once I was home from the hospital. The hospital has confirmed ms based on lesions on brain and neck. Blood work has been done to rule out other things. It’s the waiting that is getting to me. Thank you for the positive vibes. :)

Smartcloud1981 It took about 2 years after I was diagnosed for my system to adjust and for me to be able to tell what the new normal was.

I'm wishing you the best in this new adventure. Give it time and you will be an expert at handling this.

Smartcloud1981 its kind of what's the new normal and adapting to those changes rather than resisting or giving in to them is key. At least for me. Hang in there!

Smartcloud1981 I know it's overwhelming to get the diagnosis, it was for me. I was in shock. Wait for all the tests to come back and go from there. Take your time on deciding what's best for you. There is so much out there to choose from now than there was when I and others before me were diagnosed. Keep doing you and take time to breath.
