Hi I’m 42 mother of three wonderful grown boys and married 23 years to an absolute caring and loving man. I’m joining because things aren’t good for me right now. I’ve been dealing with Trigeminal Neuralgia for over a year and am about to have surgery but very nervous about it. Had anyone out there had surgery for this and if so how are things afterwards

I have no experience with this. you may want to put "Trigeminal Neuralgia" in the search button on the upper right side of the page and it will bring up past posts from those that have it or may be able to help answer your questions.
Tabitha1975 i had surgery, and once it settled down after the op, it was great. I had it in my right cheek, even had fillings re done, had a heat pad continually on my neck and face, but now, no problems. All the best, and here's to you being pain free. Let us know how you go on. Blessings Jimeka 🎄
Hi Tabitha1975
I had gamma knife for TN about 1 1/2 yrs ago and it took @ 6 mos but pain has been gone for almost a yr. my right face is numb but better than TN pain 👍
What kind of surgery are you going to have?
If invasive, have the identified a blood vessel abutting the trigeminal nerve? Or is it more likely an MS lesion? I've read decompression surgery is not as effective if it's not a vessel. But it's also very difficult to see the vessels until they get in there surgically.
Wishing you luck!
Tabitha1975 I have not had Trigeminal Neuralgia, but wish you luck with your surgery. Please keep us updated on how it goes. Sending you prayers.

Hello honey!!
What exactly is it?? I know I have something going on besides MS. I'm losing teeth quickly and out of energy. I can barely walk anymore and lots of pain.
Hugs and kisses to you!!
I am praying for you!!
Hi. When I saw your post about losing teeth quickly, pain and walking trouble, I had to respond. I have Sjogren's Syndrome as well as MS. My teeth started cracking one after another. My mouth and eyes are very dry, and I have horrible pain all over every day...my legs are like cement, neuropathy too. Please research this and ask your dr. to test you for Sjogren's antibodies. Best wishes, and God bless!

Welcome Tabitha1975. I’ve had MS for 12 years and 2 years ago my jaw starting hurting and I thought it was a cavity so I went to the dentist. It wasn’t anything with my teeth but he gave an ointment for the gums. It happened 2 more times and my dentist thought it might be TN. Now occasionally my jaw will hurt and I am careful when I chew. Hope all goes well for you and let us know how you are. 😀
Praying for your surgery to be a success, Tabitha. Keep us updated.
Hello Tabitha1975, I have TN in multiple areas, I would appreciate feedback on this. I wish you the best and will pray that you have a perfect surgery! I can feel the nerve inflamed on the side of my head in front of the ear.
