I read 2 articles about little changes in results from blood test because biotin is part of the components of the immunoassay and we are taking high dose causing little changing in the results, in all kind of tests. I was curious about my thyroid test, then I decided to search. Its being suggesting for we stopped at least one to ten days before blood work, and after go back to normal ingestion of our good Biotin vitamin.

Biotin is part of B vitamins complex, is B-H, and besides the basic use for nails and hair helps the immune system in MS related to healing, myelin, etc. The problem is this super high dose can affect other enzymes and vitamins too.

Miriade I recently had blood work done in preparation for Ocrevus infusion. I was told by my neuro that I must be off Biotin for one month prior to the blood work. (Have not had the Ocrevus yet, still working on getting help w/the copay).

I was taking Biotin for quite a while; after a few weeks on it I noticed a definite benefit in terms of strength, endurance & increased walking distance. After several months the benefit seemed to diminish, I think I may have developed a tolerance. I have not resumed it since the blood work & have not seen any drop off.

Thank you for your reply. I did not know how long I should stop biotin before blood work. It's seems better one month for the strength we take. With me nobody ever mentioned never about Biotin before. I just learned by myself now, because I was looking my thyroid test and I found weird and probably affect the results of others tests that came with no expected reports.
