Those who know me know that I am terrified of bugs and spiders and other creepy crawlies. Well today at the local Home Show one of the pest control companies had a Tarantula that they were letting people hold. I decided that today was a good day to become brave and touch one. Then they talked me into getting really brave and let it crawl on me. My service dog Willow was not a happy camper. She wanted it to go away and leave me alone. As you can see by the look on my face, I was not sure about this at all.It was ok on my hand but not so much when it started crawling up my arm.

Decided to try something new and terrifying for me...
I am very proud of you when I was in college I had professor who had a tarantula in a tank well with tarantula got loose and he said donβt worry about it well I proceeded to pick up my backpack and walk out of the class and he asked me where I was going I said I will be back when the tarantula Caught.
Again I am very proud of you.
You were brave. Good dog. Lol, I don't know if I could be that brave tarantula especially. I had nightmares as a kid tarantulas all over my ceiling, I'd see them when trying to fall asleep. Twenty something years later I found out my brother had a tarantula that got out and was never seen again somewhere inside the house. Lately all the spiders I see notice and take stance. One of the scary hobo spider ones came right down in font of my face when I was leaning (holding myself up) against the open slider door. There trying to get in my home.
I do have to ask you what did you do to your brother I mean really why didnβt anyone say oh by the way there is a big spider loose in the house.
I did say how I left my class after finding out my teachers tarantula was missing I think I would have gone to live with my grandmother, really
I think someone may have said something and that's where the dreams and spiders i saw on ceilingI came from. But I was so little I had no memory of them having or buying the tarantula. So later in life when I was told that's when I put it together. There was also a camping trip when I was young and my twin sister and I woke to a giant tarantula sized spider in the tent that I had to repeatedly hit that wouldn't die. So I think since no giant spiders like that exist where we were that it was probably my brothers tarantula that had made it into the camping gear and sleeping bags.
Opened the front door this morning and again a spider dropped down to eye level in attack position. I think their mad at me for constantly sweeping the spider webs around house doorways and over hangs.
Oh my goodness!!
Hurrah for you! Itβs wonderful to overcome something, and you did it!
Congratulations for being brave and stepping out of your comfort zone Bygonelines !
You go, girl! You are definitely a braver gal than me! I would had the heebie-Jeebies the rest of the day, and felt things crawling all over me. If you can handle that big ole hairy thing, then this MS ain't no big deal!
Good on you for doing something scary! It's the season ππ»π±
@bygone lines You are braver than me. I would have been freaking out by then.
As you can see by the look on my face I am starting to freak. I was smiling before it started climbing up my arm. My heart was beating about 25,000 beats per second. I had to go into the womens restroom and wash my hands and arm after that. I can still feel it crawling on my arm.
AAAAAHHHH!!!! You're a lot braver than I am! I have trouble even looking at the picture!
Hi there, I am interested to learn about your process of getting a service dog. He sounds great.
