Survived!

I finished my long substitute job last week and things were great! Finally had three days off this week and have slept like crazy! But now I’m caught up on sleep and house work so I’m very bored! Ha! Glad I get to work today again!

This time of year I get a little sad you see I use to work in the school system and since I was told I am not fit to work I miss the children. So I am happy for you that you have your job. I use to say that it was also my physical Therapy.

Enjoy your day

@ssdw1958 That is sad. I'm sorry for your loss. It must be tough to see reminders of your former profession. I know I feel that way too. The start of a new school year must make you reminisce a bit. :( sending a hug your way.

And I BET it was your physical therapy working with kids!! Lol. 😀

It was my PT it made me move around. My job was great if I could have gotten rid of about five adults if you know what I mean.

I worked with kindergarteners they would keep the day hopping.

Good luck at your job 😀

Yep. I know what you mean. I have a book "Work would be great if it wasn't for the people." Lol. A coworker whom I was friends with gifted it to me. What does that tell ya? Lol.

Anyway, I am sure those kids kept you hopping! Kindergarteners can be precious. I love that age group. No wonder you miss it! I taught 2nd grade CCD for one hour on Sunday's and man, I was wiped out by it! Lol.

I am not currently working because of the MS. I am applying for disability and it was really hard to give my job up. Thank you for your well-wishes, though!

It is very rewarding. When I first started I working with preschoolers but that's when I could keep up with them then MS made its showing and life changed but last year was the year the preschoolers I worked with graduated from high school.

Like they say that's life.

@ssdw1958

You must be so proud! 😊

It's none of my business, but you seem to really miss it. I wonder if there is some way you could incorporate a little of that into your life again? Maybe volunteering? I have a similar dilemma. I'd like to find a way to contribute to CCD (Sunday school) again but on a smaller scale, less than taking on a class. I can't seem to take the first step. Lol! Maybe we could encourage each other to do something! 😀

Don't wear yourself out at greaterexp 's house! You'll need some energy when you get to mine! 😁

I'm so happy for you and your ability to do what you love. Treasure it. I'm sure the kids were happy to have you while they did, too. 💕

That very different than kindergarten!

Do u think other sub opportunities will come your way this year?

Our district pays really low, so I can work about as much as I want. Too many jobs and not enough subs.

Congratulations StacyHoward for a job well done and for managing your MS so professionally! You certainly should be proud of your accomplishments and knowing you were able to do so much will give you the incentive to continue on with working when your symptoms are at a manageable level. I wish I could reach through this electronic link and give you a big high-five because you sure deserve it. Take care and make sure you listen to your body. Good to share good news such as you have shared with us. Fancy1959.

Congrats!! I just retired from teaching 31 yrs- all kinds of Secondary Science. The last 10 or so Biology to 9th graders with a State test End of Course required for them to pass to graduate from HS. I always said "I must have stupid on my forehead". Ha ha. So I know exactly what you are talking about😜. You need to recoup before going back. At least subbing daily you don't have to worry about grading this you have less parent complaints too🙄

Oh I’m already back. They are super short on subs in our area...probably because the pay stinks. But I’d rather work than sit home bored.
