CalfeeChick wow!

Well at least it drops to the 60s at night.

It's 78-80 at 5am here.

However, glad we're not in Houston this week. 🌧πŸŒͺβ˜”οΈ

CalfeeChick , I'm with you! 110 in Arizona today! Ironically, I talked with my Mom in Ohio this morning and it was 49 there!

😳😳😳😳😳

Is that a dry heat so it's not so bad? Lol

Love My a/c too. Actually keep 2 portable units on standby in the event My central craps out and there's a delay in repair.

Dry heat, but it makes me dizzy and light headed. I'll be staying inside for a while. 😊

Wow our temps don't stay that high for days but we do have several hot days. I Live in Louisiana and the humidity % is about the same as the temps.Try to stay cool!

You stay safe in Hurricane Harvey. Louisiana is on my bucket list. Want to visit Lake Charles and New Orleans.

I'm heading back out west one of these days. Loved it. Throw that dry heat at me! Took a vacation last summer during peak heat Phoenix, just to make sure we still liked it. If you can't take the dry heat, which many say is like sticking your head in an oven, try a vacation here in the midwest, or better yet, Florida. Amazingly, from the guy who wears a windbreaker all winter including below zero days, this has been a cool summer here in the midwest, or am I crazy? I use the air at night just in the bedroom, and then a dehumidifier full time in the basement which keeps the humidity down throughout the whole house. With that, I can take small doses of the humidity outside, but after about an hour, I've had it.

There's no shame in relying on the air conditioner!!!

Hi, MarkUpnorth!. My husband and I grew up in Ohio (beautiful summers), moved to Washington, DC (miserably hot and humid summers), then to South Florida for 31 rotten years (the humidity is so horrible that every time I opened the door I felt as if I were stepping into a steam room) and now we live in Northern AZ, which has been unseasonably and miserably hotter than normal this summer. However, it is as you say....I'd rather be in 90 degrees of dry heat here than in 90 degrees in the humidity of Washington or South Florida!

I'm sorry, I'm new to this. Just realized you replied. Dry heat is much better. I visited my daughter in Pensacola a little while back, during the summer. Everyone went to the beach. I had to take refuge in a beer cooler! I asked the person tending it, how much they'd charge me to stay there by the hour. And I used to love Florida!

You can have all this heat! I'm happiest at 80 degrees and very little humidity.

Holy Cow. Those temps are unimaginable to me.

Maybe I'm slow, but are you in AZ?

I used to live in Sacramento in my 20's. Long before my MS diagnosis. I would get sick all the time in the summer and all I could think of was the dashing from a/c in my apartment out into the heat and then the a/c in the car and then again into the heat and finally a/c at my destination. I think all the extremes of temps is what made me sick so much. I didn't get sick like that in other seasons. I hope it doesn't affect you like it did me!

OM Gosh. That reminded me of when I went on vacation to Grand Cayman before my MS dx. I went for a walk along the beach and practically collapsed after about 200 yards. I crawled toward the shade. I couldn't understand why that was happening at the time. Scary to think I was in another country. Anyway, not sure why I'm sharing this, but, there it is! Lol!

Pretty much, I can get light-headed just going out to back yard. I'm probably pushing myself a little too hard. I am finally able to drive either of our stick shift cars! "I feel like a butterfly πŸ¦‹ that has just learned to fly!" I didn't drive for almost a year, then a friend asked me to try her chevy Tahoe with auto transmission and I did!

Hi, CalfeeChick . It's been unseasonably terrible here in Northern Arizona, and our AC units keep breaking. We're likely going to have to replace both units, but we're trying to hold off until winter when the prices drop tremendously. Do you guys have swamp coolers out there?

CalfeeChick profile image
CalfeeChickCommunityAmbassadorβ€’ in reply toSukie427

Swamp coolers are available. we inherited mom in laws house built in 1954, no insulation, wall ac's in living room and small one in bedroom. So far so good with this heat wave. Staying in, actually, I did walk to near by Walgreen's about 7:30 this am for Rx's. Started Baclofen today. 10mg twice daily. Hope I get some relief for these leg problems. Even the muscles are sore from spasms. Hope everyone has a great Labor day week-end.

@Calfeechick

How are you doing with the Baclofen? 😬 Twenty milligrams is not a lot, but, if you're new to it, it is a lot to adjust to. Concerned you might be zapped from the initial doses. Are you ok? ...Any relief?!

CalfeeChick profile image
CalfeeChickCommunityAmbassadorβ€’ in reply toNom_De_Plume

Monday - so far good on Baclofen. I've created a schedule so I'm not taking Baclofen anytime near when I take the Gabapentin. Both make you drowsy and I had a couple of woozy hours Saturday. I haven't had any more leg cramps-spasms. Calves still feel stiff in am. Guess I was hoping for a miracle magic cure for all my leg and foot probs. 😊

OK, I give, what's a swamp cooler??

Doesn't sound like something I'd want! Unless it is a mondo dehumidifier-air conditioning combo unit!

Please explain to us Northerners. 😊

ohhhh without air conditioning, summer time would be almost unbearable in some places.

Here in Nevada temperatures can reach over 100 degrees . I am trying to avoid a heat stroke and dehydration and just the AC can maintain my body in good tonus . Marvellous aircon company airconservicingsingapore.com/ are unbelievable good and have a good reputation . They provide an excellent quick and excellent service. My AC was brooked, Did not make air flows properly and was leaking with an awful smell. The technician fixed my A/C in just few hours . He changed some filters and fix the cooling spirals. I recommend this company to everyone who has some issue with they A/C.
