I wake up every morning with extreme pain in my lower back. Sometimes in my neck as well. Has anybody had a peripheral nerve stimulator? I heard that would help with pain. The doctor that I've talked to also said there has been people that have walked again.

I heard a tens unit helps & herbs too.

I do use a TENS machine but at night sometimes it falls off at least the cords come out. I also take tumeric which helps wonders. Just doesn't last throughout the night. Sleeping on my back helps a lot but unfortunately I like to sleep on my stomach. I end up turning over in the middle of the night.

Boswelia works well with the Turmeric. You should have great results that way. 1000 mg each. Good Luck. Hugs

I would try to figure out what is causing the pain if you can. There are so many possibilities! Bad mattress, spinal issue, muscle spasms that might be treatable with simple medication, etc.

I remember folks inserting a tennis ball in their pajamas to prevent them turning a certain way.

I sure pray you find relief soon.

They already know what it is. I have a bad back and muscle spasm. The doctor was talking about an peripheral stimulator but I really don't want anything inserted in my body. I have a question for you how do you get your picture where your profile is?

You're very welcome

I had to add the picture from my desktop computer. I think if you go to your profile, you will see a place to add a picture from your files.

The pain is caused from the nerves. Which are interrupted from the disease.

A tens works for a temp relief and I found accupuncture works, but a Calmare machine was probably the best thing I found for neuropathy pain. Most pain centers have a Calmare machine and it will only work with neuropathy pain. It eliminated my pain but the doctor I went to moved so I have to drive 250 miles to use one anymore so I haven't had that therapy in a long time.

Mrkk i have the same pain , much worse on the evening. My TENS unit (electoral stulatiom) will stop the pain temporarily. I go thru a lot of batteries! Also, a good deep muscle tissue massage therapy. Acupuncture worked first 3 visits, after that made it worse. Chiropractor s don't help anymore )going since 4 yrs old) cause they said the lesions work against them. I ice sometimes, use heat pads sometimes, and soak in Epsom salts with essential oils. Take ibuprofen (4) sometimes, and sometimes the Norco 5 mg prescribed (which doesn't phase it!) Had this pain for about 40 years! The only time it was truly all gone was when I was in ER receiving synthetic morphine for a very bad UTI. It's like, WOW!!! My back and leg pain is gone!! Doctors don't understand the depth of our pain, but we do!

Thank you I have not tried morphine but everything else doesn't work. I will talk to my doctor about getting a prescription of some. Also was thinking of Lidocaine patches at night. Have you tried Lidocaine patches? I've used one one time it work wonders at least for the night. I actually got more than 4 hours of sleep. You are so right about doctors not understanding why the pain is so miserably bad. Even the MRIS showing all the lesions on my spine don't make sense to them. I guess I should not have pain unfortunately Ms will do that to you

Mrkk I find that Baclofen works better on spasms. I am on Opana for a narcotic. Works on my spinal pain, but it is 4 times more powerful than Heroine and morphine. I have multiple back and neck injuries and surgeries. So narcotics are useless on me except rare ones. I would look into meds like lyrica and the nerve type meds as well as muscle relaxants before narcotics.

Mrkk I have a big tens unit from a specialty pharmacy. Not a cheap one you but at the drug store. That thing can work wonders! I love it.

I feel your pain. I woke up this morning and let out a little scream. Took me about 5 minutes to get out of bed. Tried to go to PT and had my wife sick me up 15 minutes into it. That happens a lot to me.

I am truly sorry you are fighting this right now. I will being praying for you buddy!

Yes those tens units from Physical Therapy are amazing Unfortunately they are a lot of money. I wish people like us that are in pain and in need were donated or given machines like that.
