Guess what, today I got a call from Genteck, the drug manufacturer of Ocrevus. I start with Medicare on June 1st, eight days away, and they decided to wait until after the first to contact Medicare to see what my drug benefits are. They hope to have me on Ocrevus by mid-june! I understand many of you have misgivings about the new therapy but I am willing to try anything to stop the continuing progression of my MS symptoms. I'm going at it with a very positive attitude because we all know that a positive attitude can do so much to help the body heal and medications to work its best. So here's to my starting Ocrevus. I'll make sure and let you know more information, when I get ready to start and how I feel after the first dose. I feel like a kid that's been let loose in a candy shop! Keep smiling with me and as I have always said together we are stronger and together we can create miracles. Let's hope this Ocrevus is the miracle that so many of us have been waiting to find.😊😉👍💕😄🤗

I think Ocrevus sounds like a good drug. Perhaps any negativity is due to the expectations that it was advertised as THE wonder drug and now we see that like any other drug, you just have to be cautious.

I def. agree about the positive outlook...self-fulfilling prophecies and all that.

I wanted to thank everyone in this chat room set good thoughts and well-wishes my way. The response was overwhelming and I'm privileged to be part of such a wonderful group of people. It is said that adversity brings out the best in people and if that is so we are bonded together by the adversity we find ourselves in as we fight this beast that has attacked! I will take everyone's ideas in attempt to follow the guidelines that you so worthily put out. About making sure I go rested and a strong as I can into my first infusion. 😆 yippee hip hip hooray.... also when I talked to Genteck they checked how much would be covered. Since I was on copaxone I had met the high medicare deductibles already (which were covered by a grant from healthwell foundation) the rep for Genteck told me they would also help find funding if necessary. If it comes back as to much there are outlets availabe, it just takes a little time. I had already been through it with Copaxone so I was OK for this year. Next year I will have to go t hough the process again.
