The good, the bad, the ugly...

The good; I received my cooling vest, in the nick of time I might add. Texas heat is serious business and I love to fish, so this will help a lot! Saints be praised!

The bad; a headache, eye pain, jaw pain and back pain that has made the day nearly unbearable.

The ugly; my doctor put me on prednisone and the side effects are not playing nice, that includes messing with my moods.

Here's to a better tomorrow.

Hi GerriG ! I hope you feel better soon and that the prednisone does what its supposed to do without the side effects.

I'm very heat sensitive so don't know how you guys that live in the hotter parts of the country manage. When i lived in Southern California, I would wilt whenever it got hot and become a sloth on the sofa. Now I'm even less used to hot weather and anything over 75-80 is a huge problem for me.

I completely understand, but I had the opportunity to try out the cooling vest recently and it was wonderful. I'm afraid that I may be of the group that has the privilege of having both heat and cold sensitivity. I'm just glad I don't have them at the same time or the vest would not be an option lol.

Happy to hear you received your vest, GerriG , but sorry to hear about what sounds like a relapse and the prednisone to help it. Praying you feel better soon so you can get out and enjoy that cooking vest! πŸ’•

Please can someone tell me what type of vest you are all receiving. I have looked at all of the links that Jes gave us but I am at a loss as to which one to order. Thank you Jimeka πŸ¦‹ 🌈

Hello! The one I went with was the zip up vest with, I believe, 12 pockets. It's actually quite comfortable even though it feels a bit heavy before putting it on. I'm a bit large up top but this adjusts very easily with Velcro strips. A one hour walk in the Texas heat felt like a breeze. No overheating, just overdoing. Good luck, I hope that helped a little!

Hi, @GerriG. Where did you get your cooling vest? Summer is coming quickly to Northern AZ and I need it for horseback riding. Thanks for any info you can provide.

Hi,@Sukie427, I applied on line at mysaa.org. It was a painless procedure and actually received it within a week! Good luck, hope this helps.
