Imagine that our MS Community were taking a road trip together, and that we needed to record a compilation of MS-THEMED music for our drive. . .
What would be some of your personal suggestions???
I'll start things off:
Tom Petty-- Free Fallin'

Tom Petty-- Free Fallin'
Tripping by Robbie Williams
Falling down by Duran Duran
Didn't you have an appointment this week? How did you get on?
I should be sleeping but you've got me thinking, blessings Jimeka
Ooh. . . I can tell you've got your game face on now, J. That was a very good selection.
Appointment was great. My new PCP is awesome, and he's taking the lead on getting me from loaner chair into a permanent one (running interference with Medicaid approval procedures).
Is this the start of an incredibly early morning for you, jimeka , or the end of a late night on the town (or should we ask)??
-- c
Stumbling, I think maybe Suzi Quattro?
Good news on the wheelchair front. Pleased you like your doctor.
Night on the town, oh those were the days, if I am not in bed by 7 pm, my bed comes looking for me, particularly when I have had my grandson home all day, finding intelligent quests for him to do is mind blowing. At the moment he is doing a writing competition with the BBC, so that should keep him occupied, for a little while anyway. π π
Even Better. . .
Falls Apart, by Thousand Foot Krutch π
(and, no, I did not make this one up!!!)
Brain damage by Pink Floyd
Fumbling by Rachael Taylor
That's what I will be doing if I don't get some shut eye π
That's What Friends Are For
GasLight, It's Fancy1959 what a creative and fun post! Way to go I love it! Sticking with my motto that I close many of my replies with, "We Are Stronger Together" I've got to put my vote in for Sonny and Cher's, " You Got Me Babe"!
GasLight Nice Post to wake up to. Making my mind jumble already π΅. How about Walk This Way by Aerosmith?
Now that's some serious wakin' up music, Jesmcd2 !!!!
Can you imagine an iClock that's been programed (for it's alarm tone), to have a full-volume clip of Steven Tyler hitting the crescendo on "Walk this Way"?!?!?!
I believe that I'd jump out of bed, and stand (at least, for a brief moment) π
Hendrix's Purple Haze
Or This is my fight song. Take back my life song...π€
How about I'm a little unsteady I don't know who sings it though
Y'all are coming up with some really good ones!
We might also want to include one of these:
I Gotta Go, by the Rolling Stones; and/or
My Bucket's Got A Hole In It, by Hank Williams
π³
-- Christopher
You beat me to it with I gotta Go, very apt. π
Sorry-- here's another British singer for you jimeka (and an awesome song, IMHO):
Elvis Costello, Almost Blue
What from falling? That describes certain parts of me at the moment but π« makes it better π
I can't feel my face by the Weekend
I'm having facial numbness today π
Sorry to hear that your having facial numbness, erash -- is it on just one side, or all over? When I have facial numbness, it seems always to be on the right side.
. . . which, by the way, reminds me of the right eye that's been bothering me yesterday and today:
Double Vision by Foreigner
Sorry about your eye GasLight is it actually double vision u r having?
A few weeks ago it was on my left face. For the last week it's on the right.
When I contacted my neuro a few weeks ago to report new symptoms he said it was related to my trigeminal neuralgia (5th cranial nerve) which is on the right and he told me to increase my Tegretol or add Elavil. I disagree and think it's my 7th cranial nerve and since there's no pain, I'm boycotting the med increases/additions. Perhaps I'm being a self advocate or perhaps I'm my own worst enemy but if we are simply talking about symptomatic medications, no thanks!
By the way, I like this thread. It's one of the reasons I so appreciate THIS forum. We can discuss our symptoms but we can also be light and laugh!
It's such a great struggle to balance self-advocacy and still maintain a cooperative spirit, isn't it erash ?
I'm told that I have a lesion on my optic nerve. I've got issues with both blurring and a periodic doubling (thankfully, the doubling is not constant at this point, and so I don't have to go around with a patch and looking like a pirate) (although that could be a very good look for me, I suppose . . . .)
-- c
I always keep my pirate patch nearby. I have several.
Does a patch help? What does it do ? I have optic neuritis with my right eye and notice my vision is screwy later in the day more so , perhaps associated with fatigue . Do you think an eye patch would help in that case?
Good_enough , I can't really say, but have been told that (if mine ever became a persistent state) a patch would be likely ordered.
Perhaps Iona60 can share a bit of her deeper experiences with the patch.
I had several of these same symptoms first right then severely left, whole body tremors, day and night reversed, could not stop crying, finally when my husband seen the symptoms on the left side that looked like I was having a stroke he was wanting to rush me to the hospital. It started in my hand moved up my arm, into my throat, tongue, left side of face, when I talked, I only garbled, took me three times to get his attention, because I could not stay raised up for very long. I did not go to the ER, to my regret. I did go see the Neuro Dr. the nest day, whom told me I should not read everything on the prescription warnings and he wished they would not list all that stuff, and felt I should stay on the Gelynia, my husband was unable to make the appointment and I was so belittled. Point of my story, you have to be your own advocate, I am SPMS, I have had a reaction to every MS drug I have tried, Copaxone, Trial Drug, Rebif, could not go on the Tysbyria (sp?), because JC Virus Positive. I believe if I would have stayed on this drug I would have had a major stroke and would have been bed ridden the rest of my life. Heart disease is big in my family. erash you are not your own worst enemy. My original Dr. left this hospital when I was put on this drug, I know she would not have left me on it.
You have to be your own advocate. I will pray for you. I have not heard of either one of the meds you mentioned. I do not take any MS meds, only meds to help symptoms.
debbie
Debragm , you've had quite the experience with DMTs. Like you, I am SPMS and am only on symptom management.
I believe you are new here. We're happy you found us and appreciate you sharing your experiences with us. We do that as well as ask questions, encourage one another, and come here to vent because we 'get' each other. We look forward to getting to know you better. π
Thank you, was looking on how to delete cuz I felt I got carried away. Thank you, also I realized I answered the question wrong, sorry. What does DMT mean?
While 'striding' is a no-go these days, this one has a motivational tempo for me ... "Break My Stride" by Matthew Wilder.
Lyin' Eyes by the Eagles
My husband is now looking for these.
The Lido Shuffle by Boz Scaggs
For those with paresthesias, "I've Got You Under My Skin."
That's a fantastic one, greaterexp !!
. . . and while we're thinking about the great works of Cole Porter,
Don't forget about "Too Darn Hot"
How 'bout Ring of Fire, Johnny Cash
Most definitely, Hidden
Here's one of my favorite covers, which I thought that you might also enjoy--

Thanks. Love it! And it inspires me to work on my ukulele more often.
Falling Down - Duran Duran
Slip Sliding Away - Paul Simon
Everybody Cries - REM
GasLight , you gave this mouse a cookie ... and now I've spent the past hour playing on YouTube. ππ
How about these, for inspiration ...
Survivor - Eye of the Tiger
Starship - Nothing's Gonna Slow Me Down
Bon Jovi - It's My Life
I frequently listen to music that makes me want to get up and move. The top half of me still functions just fine. ππππ
Those are spectacular choices, Eleyne92 , and thanks for reminding me on Starship-- I had that song in my head but could not fully remember Title/Artist.
I actually have a friend over at the disability center here in Atlanta whose birthday is today, and his family is taking him to a Bon Jovi concert this evening-- I wonder if they'll play It's My Life. . .
OK l gotta toss one for the room! Chicago... You're Not Alone.π
Just like a summersault, falling over. Head,Shoulders, Knees and Toes. GasLight
Dazed and Confused, by Led Zeppelin

We are all MS warriors
Fight song by Rachael Platten
Her video is really worth watching π
I actually had never heard that song, jimeka (I know-- I don't get out very much π€).
A very powerful message, to be sure, and you are correct that the video is a must see.
I wish I could add a song title, but the imagination and recall aren't working. π Enjoying the ride and music, GasLight . Thanks!
I love ALL these songs! Such a great subject! And here I can't remember any of the artists or songs now (as Pooh would say -Think, think, think)- LOL
Guess I'll just TRY (A little bit harder) Janis Joplin...or could be that I'M GOING SLIGHTLY MAD because I WANT TO BREAK FREE (both Queen).
Jennie62
Could just be cognitive symptoms getting the best of you, jennie62
Perhaps you should call your neuro, and ask him to prescribe a REMEDY (Black Crowes).
Be very cautious, though. When I called mine, and said, "DOCTOR, MY EYES. ." (Jackson Browne), all that he wanted to do was to become my PUSHERMAN (Curtis Mayfield).
Don't worry, be happy!
Yes that is the one
. . . and if not entirely happy, then at least FEELIN' ALRIGHT (Joe Cocker), right SueAB ?
GasLight l gottta be me" because that's what ms is making me. "Sunrise sunset, swiftly go the days" because each day has become valuable. Que sera, sera, whatever will be will be " - because MS is a constants surprise
GasLight Andy Williams, Jim nabors, an Doris day were the singers to the above songs. My brains works in shifts. Onetimes I am a complete strange to myself to myself and feel like A " Purple people eater" or my eyes are so blurry I am looking by The Light of the Silvery Moon.
Falling Free by Madonna
For those who have blurred vision how about Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke
Think all can relate to this / George Micheal ' a different corner πΌ x
This is such a creative game . Perhaps a CD could be made to honor a MS fundraiser ?
Let it be, The Beatles
youtu.be/SmVAWKfJ4Go.... Too depressing , but
youtu.be/63SCuZEhHBI Lucinda Williams , get right with god
Crying Tim again, ray Charles π¦
I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynord
No specific connection with any particular MS symptom, but one of my most favorite hymns (and more generally, a really fantastic album by a talented young artist).
So, I humbly tender this last submission on such basis, standing alone . . .
Hope that y'all enjoy.
Blessings,

Okay, so today I got a new chair, which brought to mind a veritable "must add," for the benefit of those members of the community who have now graduated to wheeled seating.
Hope that y'all like it--
-- Christopher
You can say that again gaslight
You've lost that love and Feeling. Dooby brothers!
