Hi ssdw1958 of they are that bad call your PCP. But you can call and talk to your pharmacist about side affects of the meds your taking.☺

Try some good compression socks. I use these from Amazon:

"Compression Socks Mojo Performance & Recovery Socks

by Mojo Compression socks"

Mine haven't swollen in a long time, but I do get the sensation and pain of my feet being swollen whenever I wear shoes for longer than a couple hours. When my feet did swell i found my only relief when I would soak them in epson salt and hot water

ssdw1958 I have to wear 15-20 mg compression socks all the time I am on my feet or my feet swell, especially my anjkles, and I get a lot of pain in my ankles. Usualy requires ice packs if I don't wear my compression socks. I like Jobst. Scroll around. Different prices. Look for best deals. I prefere socks, not hosiery.

I always thought my swollen feet were solely due to high blood pressure , but maybe there is something connected to ms?

For a short time about 3 mos ago my feet were swollen but not terribly. I am taking Vesicare for OAB and I thought maybe that could be it but was not sure. The edema did not last too long maybe a week or less. My feet have not swollen since, I don't think, so not sure what caused it. They did not hurt or cause a walking problem. I don't take the medication every day. I cut the pill into 4 parts and take a quarter every other day on average. It seems to hold me - not totally - but enough. I started out taking one every day but because I am a singer it was somewhat drying so then I cut it down to one every other day and then after maybe a week or two I started cutting them in half and taking one half every other day and after that I started cutting them in quarters and take it every other day. It is a cumulative so sometimes I take a little time off but sometimes after about three or four days I have to go back on it.I took medication a few years ago and then I stopped taking it and I was doing OK for maybe a year maybe more but then the OAB caught up with me again so I restarted it.

Thank you for your input, since I take two meds for OAB I need to talk with my urologist to find out what will be the best thing to do.

My feet got swollen from sleeping upright in a chair. They got a bit better in a recliner. I sit too much as hurts to walk. Can barely walk.

I try many things, tight socks, diuretics etc. Not sure what else to do. My recliner helps some. But is hard not to sit a lot.

How do, ssdw1958. I've been attending to a pair of ornery feet for almost 2 years now. They alternate their affects on me, sometimes in harmony, and sometimes individually. The variety of troubles my feet can provide, is amazing. Tingling, burning, clamminess, swelling (up to about 25% more than normal), drop foot, swing out, swing in, total numbness on the top or bottom of the foot(or both}...and lastly, my favorite. The spot fire, or match. It usually occurs on the outer blade, heel, of either foot. The feeling is as if a match was ignited against my foot. When shoeless, I can just touch the spot and "put out the fire". With shoes...well, I must just deal with it. It's only lasts a part of a second to 2 seconds, but that's a long time. Anyway, some things I've found to help minimize the swelling. 1) I drink lots of water and liquid all through the day. about 2 quarts in total. Anti-inflamatories and muscle relaxants seem to absorb a lot of liquid from the body. 2) compression socks work for short periods of time, then the elastic, at the top of the socks, seems to put excessive pressure on blood vessels, minimizing blood flow. So, I cut the top inch to 2 inches from pairs of new socks. I've found that much of the support elastic is located in socks. It might seem foolish, but it works. 3) Measure your feet to see if a new size is required. For those us able to walk, there is often a change if our gait which causes feet to "flatten out". I was informed I needed to increase my shoe size by 2 widths. Lastly, many people have noted that homeopathic and alternative medical practices have been beneficial. The muscles in my right leg are all locked up, when I stand and walk. I have recently begun to utilize acupuncture. The first session went well and I'm looking forward to the next. A recent topic discussing use of magnesium is another method I will try soon

I realize this was lengthy, but I hope it provides some possibilities for easing your situation, and possibly inspires you to find your own alternatives.
