I suddenly lost my legs suddenly today. If you find them, please return them in good condition. At least laugh with me about it. I hope a little rest will work wonders.

Lost legs
I will have a good look around, see if I can find them. What colour are they, red, black, white, brown? Is there a prize for who finds them first? On a different note, how are you?ππ
Jimena,
My pale legs never get a glimmer of sunshine, since wearing shorts has always made me feel like I was running around in my underwear! I'm grateful they've always worked until now. I was a bit shocked at how quickly I went from a slow and cautious walk to freezing completely and not being able to put one foot in front of the other. Though symptoms have gradually gotten, I didn't expect that last night. I'm strangely all right with that today, but I think I'm going to ask my PCP to get going on something, since I can't see the neurologist until late Jan.
Thanks for asking and for laughing with me a bit. I sure pray you are doing better.
Erin
Wow. I have just started that "freezing completely" and it is scary! You just can't move! Sounds kinda like mine is progressing. Guess i should call neuro for another brain scan. It has been a little over a year since I had one. I thought I was just being simple when I have stopped midstride and not been able to move. I usually use a walker or hold onto counters or chairs or whatever...but had not really thought about the freezing midstride much...
I'm so sorry this is happening to you. I am so grateful that mine didn't last too long--a couple of days. But it rather took me by surprise. I had been having difficulty walking, but it seemed as though "the freeze," as you so aptly put it, came suddenly and intensely.
I hope and pray you can nip this in the bud with the help of your doctor.
Blessings to you.
Erin
Greater exp, it's MSFIGHTER. I've laughed at myself often enough since I've been diagnosed with MS. Laughing is always better than crying! So let's laugh together, here goes....ha,ha,ha,ha...(eyes are tearing up now)....ha,ha,ha,ha! I haven't had that good of laugh in a long time...!!!
Seriously, take care of yourself. When you over due is when accidents, like falls, occur. Remember you need to function under the new reality MS has imposed on you. Finding it too hard and too long put you in dangerous situations that can sometimes lead to more visits in the emergency room. Take care of yourself first and foremost. No one knows your body like you do.
Thanks for the hearty laughter! I thought I knew my body, but I'm finding muscles I never knew existed (when they cramp up), and have lost a few I can't seem to find!
Thanks for the advice. I feel like the old man in the old Carol Burnett shows!
Careful we're showing our age when we talked about watching The Carol Burnett Show. Wasn't that the best ever in stand up Comedy!
I will look for your legs if you will help me find my brain (LOL because tears only make things cloudier ) π
I thought I saw one up in the clouds this morning, but then I was politely told that it was a pig! π Flying can you believe it! Hope these will brighten your day Erash π
Erash and Jimeka, my favorite bumper sticker of all time read, "Of all the things I ever lost I miss my mind the most!" I bet a person with MS wrote that bumper sticker! Good luck in the leg and the mind hunt! Why don't you offer a reward for their safe return! Ha,ha!
ATTENTION WALMART SHOPPERS: STOP!! Please ck your legs to make sure you don't have an extra pair on. Look around you... NO ONE LEAVES TIL WE FIND greaterexp LEGS!!
Jesmcd2, you're cracking me up!
Morning Erin, how are your legs today, have they come back on their own? Hope you are ok. Cheers Jimeka
You guys are hilarilious! I'd loan you my legs, but I'm not sure you'd want themπ But on a more serious note...Erin, you ought to call your doc (maybe even the neuro you aren't scheduled to see until Jan) and tell (them) about your legs. They might squeeze you in sooner. And take care when standing or taking a step!
Tutu, I am calling my PCP today. If a course of steroids could keep me mobile through the holidays, I may opt in. I have to cook for our church's bazaar, and always host Thanksgiving, so legs and arms would be helpful.
Thanks for your encouragement!
That's quite an impressive goal and calendar you have ahead of you, Erin. I pray you are able to do it all, but if you have to cut back or ask for help, do so. Keep in mind that steroids help with the inflammation and may only mask the symptoms. So don't push yourself too hard while on them. Been there and done that. I hope your PCP helps and that a course of steroids get you back on your legs (literally)!
Tutu, that's very sound advice. Thank you. I've been learning to work on my pride issues and just say a grateful "yes" when folks offer help. I have good help lined up I those times, and am figuring out a back up plan just in case. Everyone here has such good advice, and I'm drinking it in!
Bless you!
Ampyra helps me find mine! Have bee fighting the MonSter since 1986 and at this point, it is better living through chemistry. Take a pill so I don't pee, take a happy pill to keep my head on straight, pills for less pain, and pills so my muscles don't cramp & spasm... NOT COMPLAINING because I'm still sucking air and WALKING albeit like I'm drunk sometimes. LIFE IS GOOD!!! Not in a wheelchair and my cane and rollator is SEXY HOT RED!!!
How clever. I don't know how to find them either. Rest. What a good way to put the feeling!
Oh my goodness, I hope they return to you.
I only lost them for about 16 hours! They're back! And my neurologist appt that wascto he in late Jan is now next week with a new neurologist. I just hope she's good. I'd like to keep my legs.
LOLOL auto correct. Sorry that caught me off guard. Make sure your keeping a journal of your symptoms greaterexp dates, times, how long, what you did to stop it, discription, pain scale. And don't forget to take it with you!
