Does anyone have the Bioness L300 plus? I was wondering now that the winter is coming how you will keep the back of your pants leg dry? During the summer it wasn't an issue b/c of the heat.

Any suggestions even if you don't have it. FYI the pads are on the back of the thigh because the for hamstrings.

Thank you for sharing. I am due in November to be tried for it, so if you haven't found out by then I will ask my physiotherapist. Let us know if you do get any suggestions. Is your walking much improved? Thanks Jimeka

My walking has improved. My foot lifts up and the thigh cup helps me raise my leg. It will take you a min to get used to it as you figure out which unit is doing what.

I met with my Bioness rep today for my adjustment and I asked her about the back of my leg being wet in the cold. She told me that I can get the cloth biking short or the biking shorts with flet which would work to keep dry and hold up the thigh cuff if it may slip.

Would you mind explaining why the back of your leg gets wet, sorry but I don't understand as I have only seen the bioness on Google, I have never seen one up close. Thank you

The cuff uses cloth pads to send simulation to your muscles. You have to wet the cloths every 4 hours. Since the thigh cuff is placed on my hamstrings the simulation is on the back of my leg and when I sit down I am squeezing out the excess water in the pads. The thigh cuff doesn't look like the calf cuff where the cloth pads are enclosed in a solid brace. I wish I could send you a pic

Thank you, it sounds a bit messy. Is it un comfortable and how is it being wet with cold weather, or do you live somewhere hot?

Just to clear up the meaning of damp. When I say my pants leg is damp it's more like when you dry your hands on a paper towel. The dampness doesn't last long. The excess water squeezes out when you sit down. As for the cold, it has been cold here in Chicago and I haven't had any problems for now.

When you get the thigh cuff let me know and I'll let you know how to clean it. Another tip from the rep.

rjoneslaw, hello from Fancy1959 and welcome to this wonderful chat room. I have never had any experience with the Bioness L300 plus but I am an Old Farm girl who knows a or two about how to stay dry. For the calf unit of the Bioness I would look for a pair of boots that fit over it. Unfortunately because of the bulk it adds to your calf you probably will have to get custom boots made. If not custom boots made you will definitely have to go to a custom boot store. Now you're talking about extra money there. For your thigh I would recommend you look into buying an oil skin coat. They are completely water and wind proof. And they are long enough to hit you mid calf. They come in the very fashionable colors of; brown, brown, or you guessed it brown. They can be ordered through any major Western retailz catalog like Chicks or State Line Tack. You will not find these in any of the current fashion trend books. But I do promise you will stay dry using the oilskin coat and tall boots. You need to make sure the boots are waterproof or at least put mink oil on them regularly to keep them waterproof. If it's not extremely cold you could just find a pair of tall rubber boots. I hope this helps. It's better than not being able to wear your Bioness during the winter. Remember together we are stronger! Please let me know what you finally wind up doing and how the Bioness works for you and how it works in general. I'm very curious about it. Thanks! Fancy1959.

For now I figured out how to keep my pants leg dry. After I put on the Bioness Cuff part I take a towel and press against it to squeeze out the excess water.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not concerned about the calf part. I do have boots and the Bioness rep said they are good for the gait clip I have to wear on my shoe. My main concern is the back of my pants leg being damp and the cold. I will check out the coat. I currently have a floor length north face coat. Will keep you informed. I'm here in Chicago where the cold is no joke.
