This is the. Bioness L309. 7400 USD. I was extremely surprised at how well this little contraction actually works! I was walking without the cane however, the rep wanted me to use it since it was my first go round. I'm excited to know I'll be receiving this. I pray this info helps!

So pleased for you. I hope it gives you a lot more freedom. Bioness got back to me here in the uk, I am due to see my neurologist in November so I am going to ask if they are available on the NHS.

Glad to hear and see that you found something that improves your walking. That's a fair bit of change, $7400. Is that total list price? Do you plan to pay it all out of pocket?

I put the price up because many people have asked. I don't have that kind of money... My insurance is covering 80-100% of the cost. Thank God!

I am very thrilled. This device is not a luxury. It's necessary for many of us to walk. I'd like to see the day when all MSers can receive this... thank you.

That is the Bioness L300. The price vary depending who you get it from. I have the Bioness L300 plus I got mine directly from Bioness. I didn't want to do 2 different vendors. It was cheaper to go through Bioness.

Sure is! Cool! How does it work for you? How has I changed your life!

rjoneslaw profile image

I love it my life has changed for the better. It helps with my drop foot and helps me bend my leg. I would suggest getting the entire unit (L300 plus). You learn to use it in no time. My insurance paid for it which was a plus. The reps at Bioness can help you compose a letter to the insurance company to help get funding. I submitted that letter and a letter from my PT only why it would help improve my gait.

That's awesome!!! I'm super excited! This makes me want to work as hard as possible to receive it! I will tell the rep about the thigh piece also. Thanks for the encouraging news!

Kj9681 lm so happy for you! How exactly does it work though? Is it like electric shocks or something?

Kj9681 profile image
Kj9681 in reply toJesmcd2

Yes, it's like a TENS for the perineal nerve. The sensation feels weird however, there is no pain.

Jesmcd2 profile image

And it actually lifts your foot up? Without using braces?

Kj9681 profile image
Kj9681 in reply toJesmcd2

Yes! It was incredibly refreshing. I wish I could post the video she took of me walking with it on. The "heavy" feeling gone!

Did you get to use both feet? At the same time? An how come we they don't tell us about this?? I mean talk about a quality of life changer. Or is it to good to be true

I was fitted, and I said the very same thing! This device should have never been something I just stumbled across! We have a right to know about these things... It's not fair! They'd rather push pills down our throats, and give us false hope. The truth is, we need a device such as this to assist us with staying mobile, independent, and relevant. The rep told me she has a Surgeon with MS who is still able to perform surgery due to this device. My insurance covers 80-100% so it's not like they don't know. I'm starting to wonder... It does work though. I can testify to it. Not at all too good to be true.

I gave you the info for a rep from Bioness. Give her a call and see when and where she'll be. I think it's worth it, doesn't hurt to try. At least you get to test it out and see if it's right for you. I can't wait to try it, insurance or not, its worth it.

Update... I wanted to share the accurate updated information about my experience with Bioness, and insurance. As of 10/1/16, new fy, I will be responsible for 25% of the 7900.00 cost. Co pay of 150.00. 2 payments plans are available for remaining portion... payments range from 115-92.00/month for 18-24/months.

This is my personal situation, I'm praying my being open will help someone else.

I pray this helps.

Blessings

I had my appointment yesterday and it went well. I used it on both legs and I'm shocked that they work! My walking was much better and my posture using my walker improved tremendously. It's expensive, my insurance might not cover it, my doctor told me she'd help with any paperwork needed for my insurance and I am in tears because I may not be able to get it. But if anyone gets a chance to try it, it's worth it.

Thank you for sharing your information with us kj9681!
