That's the best attitude to have. Live life to the fullest that you can. It you let it get you down, it wins. We are fighters and I'm not going to let it win. It's just a bump in the road.
Attitude is everything in dealing with this crappy disease!! My husband was diagnosed in 1977. The Dr. came in where we were waiting with a 6 month old baby and said, "I have bad news and I have worse news, Elvis Presley died this afternoon and you have MS." He continued to tell us that it was incurable and he would lose complete use of his body. WELL, we are almost 40 years later and yes he is a quadriplegic and uses a motorized chair for all mobility, but we are happily retired after teaching for 30 years and he continues to work at a theme part here in Orlando. It's a struggle and some days it's exhausting, but it keeps him going and we are happily taking each day. He tells everyone we do everything we want to do just often a bit differently from the norm. Keep positive and keep moving. Life is worth fighting for!!!
I so agree with you Lucy G. Being happy, having a smile on your face, and making the most of each day you have and every bit of energy you have is a choice in life. When I was working full-time trying to keep my MS hidden and supervising 75 + people I often heard I always had a smile on my face. That's exactly what I would tell anyone who asked. It was a life choice. We are in charge of our lives and we can either go through it happy or we can go through it sad. Make the most of every moment given you. Make memories and those good memories will help get you through the bad times. Screw this MS if you pardon my language. I refuse to let MS keep me down. It might knock me down but I keep pulling myself back up. Fight on! Fancy1959.
