Hi , this is a new site and a new venture for the Cervical Myelopathy group of which I have been a member and part of the team since its early days. Founded by a fellow sufferer Iwan . I am pleased to be here! I have had surgury to decompress spinal cord impingement and remove bone spurs and 3 of the most degenerated discs replaced with artificial discs. I still have symptoms , mainly neuropathic pain and some weakness in hands and muscle tone,but I consider myself very fortunate that i am still functioning reasonably well.though not able to work as my day to day symptoms are variable. I also have a number of other health problems and lumbar stenosis/ arthritis ,hypothyroid,and asthma to name a few. on lots of meds . I do my utmost to carry on with life with a smile on my face and a positive attitude and the most important thing to stress is move when you can and rest when you can't !

Thank you Margot! this is photo was taken a year after my cervical op, i was using a walking stick then( just noticed it in the foreground) .I rarely need it these days though it travels with me just incase I am doing a lot of walking or expect a tiring day. photo taken at Lands End Cornwall.UK.
