I have a skin problem which is exactly like dandruff. After showering my forehead and scalp in particular has dandruff-like flakes.

These flakes/scales appear later on my ankles but generally are all over my body to some extent and tend to form a 'paste' in intimate areas. The use of anti dandruff shampoo has no affect at all. Any ideas please on cure/control?

Hi Fremonte,

There are numerous conditions that can cause dry or flaky skin so you'll need to see a doctor.

You might have the condition psoriasis which can affect the scalp, groin and other parts of the body. Because the flakes are forming a 'paste' you may have a secondary fungal infection which can be treated with anti-fungal cream or tablets.

Hi Fremonte, my eczema is sometimes dry and flaky but like Shell I think your GP is first port of call then you may get referral to dermatologist. Good luck! I had trouble with my scalp for a while and found using Dead Sea salts shampoo helpful
