Can anyone recommend some high UV protective running clothes?

Hi, I'm highly allergic to light but like to be outside - running in a lot of clothes results in extremely high temperatures - does anyone have any recommendations of where I could find clothes that will cover me up but keep me cool?

I am not sure if this will help but have you heard of a sting suit?. Its what they use in the sea to avoid jelly fish stings. It may sound funny but they are thin, lightweight & go from head to toe. Not sure how hot they would get, but must be worth a look.

There's lots of Aussie sites you could contact and search online like this sunprotection.com.au/

Hi FionaGFG, thanks for the link I've tried most UK sites and the UV just isn't what it's cracked up to be - I'll give this a go.

My 12yr old son has PLE and he wears a long sleeve rash/surfing vest with long sleeves the one he has has a factor 50 protection, I got his from a company on the web called Magic marine they are associated with Pelican racing.

Hi lphilly - I have looked at surfing tops but haven't been able to find a long sleeved UV, I'll have a look at Magic Marine - thanks for the tip. Not sure if it will help but I've also got a blog about solar urticaria, photosensitivity and PLE - skinegenes.co.uk

Hi - I also suffer from Solar Urticaria, it's awful! I was running on a treadmill (inside but by a window), yesterday for 40 mins, today my back is covered in a rash that is so sore, as I assume you can imagine! Any luck, I'd be interested I which 'light weight' clothing you find. Hope you have success treating this :-)

Checkout proteksol.com - Coolibar Clothing. I've just ordered a running top, worth a try! :-)
