Scaly skin in new tissue growth after leg ulcer

I have scaly skin problems in new tissue growth following a leg ulcer. I also get a pins and needles sensation when standing up. I lost a lot of weight and I don't think the ulcers will come back now but I'm left with the poor skin. What is the best daily care I can give them?

My non-medical advice is to make sure you avoid the skin drying out so moisturise skin with a non-perfumed cream or lotion after bath or shower. I use Doublebase gel which you can buy from a pharmacy counter and is a bit pricey, but I know others suggest Aveeno, E45, Boots own brand products, all of which are off the shelf and cheaper.
