I got a red bump on my scalp 3 months back. I thought it's a usual bump comes because of body heat. But the size has increased after 2 months. Its looks soft and red in colour. I didnot get any pain but I got headache. Later i consulted a doctor online and prescribed Augmentin Duo Amoxycillin (625mg tablet) and T bact Mupirocin Ointment. After taking the tablets, I didn't find any change in size but there was a change in colour. I have attached the pictures of initial and present stage. Could someone please suggest to whom I have to consult. What is this actually? Is it a serious one. Now , i am feeling pain whenever I comb my hair. Please help or suggest.

A specialist in hair and scalp issues is called a trichologist, I just double checked. I am not sure where you are and if this service would be available publicly or privately.
No. It's not cancerous. Even , i was worried like you. I consulted a general surgeon. He performed a minor surgery and removed that. A sample tissue had been sent for biopsy and the report is attached.
Hi there - I was wondering if you ever found out any further information about this. I just recently noticed a very similar red bump on my scalp as well and was looking to see if you had any information you had gathered since you posted this.
I consulted a general surgeon. He performed a minor surgery and removed that. The biopsy report suggests that those are the impressions of "Pyogenic Granuloma"
