FEELING GUILTY

Hello ,this is the first time I'm reaching out to others like myself who have a family member suffering from Lichen planus but actually any skin condition. I feel so helpless and so bad for my mom. Now its at the point I don't want to be around her because there's nothing I can do to help her. The only thing I can do is scratch her. Her back ,legs feet arms. etc. She has a severe case. Its been on and off for like 20 years. I feel bad, but I don't want to be around her.

Please don't feel guilty, it's incredibly hard to watch someone scratch themselves or do the scratching for them, and of course awful to see your Mum suffer, but you need a break too. Really important for you to care for yourself if you are caring for a family member.

Thanks for that. I feel ashamed of myself sometimes. We love to play cards, but sometimes I just can't take it.
