Funnily enough I recently saw a dermatologist after referral by GP for more or less what you describe. She diagnosed the cause as infected eczema, with the cause underlying athletes foot. I was prescribed Terbinafine Cream 1%, to use twice a day for 4-6 weeks, over the whole foot and ankle area, between and over the toes. I can combine this with Elocon once a day if needed.

thanks good to know. Did you have any problems between you toes. And was it a prescription drug she gave you. Thankyou

I didn't have problem between toes as much as over tops and round the nails, and yes, it's a prescribed cream.

Dear Heartproblemshope,

I tend to agree with 'lovesradio', it Does look Similar to a Rash I get. I am Heavily Immuno- Suppressed, having both ANCA Vasculitis- and having had a Kidney Transplant. My Latest Symptom, I say 'latest', is Eczema mainly affecting my Right Hand- between my first two fingers. I am seeing my Dermy., in about ten days, mean time I have a Steroid Cream- that I don't really like to use too much..... and the BIGGEST E45 CREAM that I could find. By the way, don't 'knock' E45, it IS a good Emollient- use for Chapped Skin, Eczema, Callused Skin, along with Itchy Skin and even Sunburn.

However DO get an appointment, with your Dermy. As soon as possible. Get on the Phone and 'Lay It On Thick', how Worried you are- not too much of a stretch/ lie really. How it is 'affecting' the Use of your Feet- All that Skinning Can't Be Good, Can It? I mean what 'Happens' if your Skin Splits? (You have already 'noticed' some Blood near the surface, I'm Sure you have!)

Athlete's Foot is, by the way, a 'Baine' of my life- bearing in mind all the Immuno- Suppression that I'm on. I can Never, entirely cure it, the best I can do is 'Control' it. I soak my feet in Disinfectant Solution, after I'm out the shower, then I apply 'Clotrimazole Cream 1%' between the toes, followed by athlete's Foot Powder in my Socks. I turn ALL the socks, that I have worn since the last wash, inside out before soaking then in Disinfectant. I also ad more Disinfectant to the Wash Cycle. I add Disinfectant to the Sheet Wash too. (These I do at 60 C, the same as for the Towels). This might 'Sound' like a LOT of 'Messing About', However, my Skin is Much Better, as is the Athlete's Foot, so Yes a 'Little Bit' of extra work... but definitely Worth It. I won't 'list' them all here, but I do know a number of 'Tricks' that can help Skin Troubles Heartproblemshope- so please Do ask. (You can Private Message me, if you prefer.)

Do take care, of yourself, my Friend.
