Hi all, I've recently been diagnosed with palmar plantar pustulosis and I am waiting for PUVA PHOTOTHERAPY, could be waiting 3-4 months due to backlog. The skin specialist thinks it's linked to me having Rheumatoid Arthritis diagnoses 9 years ago.
Diagnoses psoriasis PPP.: Hi all, I've recently been... - MY SKIN
Diagnoses psoriasis PPP.

Hi,
I’ve not experienced this type of psoriasis but have had psoriasis since I was 5.
Over my experience of it I was told being autoimmune condition to cut out gluten as it feeds the antibodies.
Take vit d3, I was incredibly low and the psoriasis improved with treatment.
My son who has it much worse than I ever have had has to avoid milk, which he doesn’t so it continues.
I hope it helps
I’m not sure if the specific type of psoriasis that you have but I had fairly extensive plaques (scales) in my legs & arms for years. Puva therapy worked incredibly well for me. I did it for almost a year I think & had an amazing sun tan & clear skin. For some this continues but fit me when I stopped the treatment the psoriasis returned. But we tried another treatment , methotrexate, that was less of a commitment & also worked well. I then had another treatment, cyclosporine, that again worked well. With all when I stop it returns. I’m now on biologics which requires an injection every 2 weeks. Overall this is the simplest to administer as I do it at home & it’s not everyday.
I’m so pleased I went through the treatment plans as although the puva was time-intensive (I had to drive 40 mins Each way to the hospital & then spend over an hour at the hospital several times a week) my skin being clear was worth it. I wish I’d done it sooner. I never felt I could because working around that commitment was too hard but in hindsight I should have put my skin first. For me the psoriasis affected my mental health & I wish I’d been encouraged to get the skin treatment sooner as it would have saved me anguish in my 20s & 30s.
That’s a long reply.
Hope you’re ok & the treatment goes well. Perhaps you could ask for the next treatment if there is a back log?

Thank you for your reply.
The psoriasis is on the soles of both my feet and find it painful to walk at times and am hoping the treatment helps when I get it as I work long hours on my feet all day. I'm not feeling very hopeful.
Hi pool0009,
I know it is a few days since your post, but I just wanted to add that I have had Phototherapy twice-with several years in between the two. I was covered 90% and it worked so well. I too had an hours drive each way, but it was worth it. You start with literally a few seconds and then build up. It is quite funny if you think about it! I wore a helmet with goggles the first time as my face was clear, I got up to 7 minutes a session and I was completely clear-heaven. It lasted for over a year. My second time went as the first, only I didn't stay as clear for as long-so, I too went onto Methotrexate, but I'm on Aprimilast now. Best part of the light treatment was the tan with no lines! My students kept asking me if I went on holiday, though I was in school every day. Best of joy for you.

Sounds promising, hope it works when I finally get the treatment, might have to wait a while as I am on the waiting list. It's only on my feet thankfully so might have nicely tanned feet 😂
Ah, yes! They do have lamps for hands and feet. Coral nail polish is the ticket with tanned feet!

😊
