I had a hysterectomy two weeks ago, but leaving the ovaries, I’m 36 years old, and I have this awful allergic reaction all over my incisions and it feels like it’s spreading all over my body. It’s driving my crazy, it itches so bad, I don’t have my thyroid so my skin was already dry to begin with but now it seems like I can’t stop scratching, all over! Has anybody found a solution or a cause? I was reading some of the comments and it scares me to think this could last years!!

Allergic reaction after hysterectomy
My best recommendations are DHEA tablets start on a small dose of 10 mg then work up to 20mg DHEA eventually stops the itching which is very distressing
Chlorella which tastes disgusting but really works on allergic skin reactions and Ige levels and lastly GABA which also works on high Ige levels - which you obvs have atm- GABA calms everything down I take 1 500mg capsule on a morning and 2 x 500mg at night
I recently had an allergic skin reaction and these 3 things have helped me the most
Also you will need some good moisturiser I found Nivea 48 hour rich body lotion to be great as an emulsion to apply during the out break then I have been extremely grateful to Vaseline intensive care advanced repair - it says clinically proven to heal very dry skin in 5 days and it did, both are very reasonably priced
Is he sure it's allergic reaction only? Could it be bacterial infection as well as reaction? Has he swabbed the area to culture to determine precisely what it is? Is the itching relieved by an H1 antagonist like Zyrtec? Are you allergic to iodine? Have you tried applying betadine to the incisions? Have you tried warm salty washes? Have you tried applying coconut oil for moisture and to make it less habitual by fungi?
If you have no thyroid apparently it's extra important to have regular intake of iodine. Celtic sea salt or Himalayan sea salt on your main meal each day, approx 1/4 tea spoon. Eggs if not allergic. Seaweed is helpful. Google for other rich sources and concentrate on them. Increase vegetables and drop all grains. Grains are particularly low in nutrients and are rapidly converted to sugar, this would benefit your health and anyone else's greatly. Grains are also heavily fumigated to deal with molds, and heavy pesticide. Not much good to them, more fibre that's nutrient dense in vegetables.
Sorry for your struggles xx
