i am having a mole removed and not liking the thoughts of it. It is on my face with a wart on it. They say it will be scraped off but wondered if anyone has anything similar done.?

Sorry you have had no replies. I have not had this procedure but I think you will be given a local anasthetic and they will 'freeze' the area before 'scraping'. Your hospital should have given you an info sheet on the procedure!

My friend had undergone a mole removal treatment recently from a clinic in Toronto.

I’m not too far from that area...do you know how they decide when a mole needs to be removed? My doctor doesn’t seem to make a big deal of having them even though I have some I wasn’t born with. I don’t know what to think about it...Lol :/ I guess I need to ask for referral to a dermatologist about these things?..

your doctor knows when the mole needs checking and would refer you to the hospital. As i have got older i have lots of them . I am only having mine off because there's a wart on it. And on my face Just want wart off realy wouldn't worry bout them if doctor says ok.

About 15 years ago I had 2 lesions removed from my face - one looked like a pearl in the crease on one side of my nose & the other looked like a small raspberry. Not quite the same but they were cut away & stitched under local anaesthetic. Felt nothing and healed to almost invisible. Wishing you all the best

I have not have one removed before but I do know a couple people who have had something like that done before.

I had a melanoma which was not diagnosed after four years of visiting the GP.

It was said to be a sebaceous wart - following the op, I had a chain of moles on my back removed and a lesion on the chest which would not heal. It worked out fine so would recommend you have both wart and mole removed. You can get the results back after the deed is done. As you know it's under a local anaesthetic, and won't hurt. However don't rush round after you have it done - no alcohol or spices, as they can encourage capillary fragility and it could bleed. High does of vitamin c, taken the day before can cut down bleeding. I use it for gum bleeding - next day it disappears!
