Persistent Back Acne

hey,

I've been suffering with back acne for about two years now and it just won't shift! It's not consisting of whiteheads or blackheads, just sore red bumps and I've been applying witch hazel for a while, as I do with my face, but this makes them itch. My face has no acne at all, but my back acne is starting to spread onto my collarbones and neck.

I don't know what to do with it as it is so stubborn! It's not terrible acne, so I'm not sure if I should see a doctor over it, but my prom is coming up in three weeks and I've got red sore spots that'll be showing!

Do you have any treatments you recommend?

Should I see my doctor? (I'm in the UK btw)

Thank you- I'd be very grateful for suggestions!

I think the best thing to do is visit your GP as you say it's not terrible but it's sore, so why suffer? Fingers crossed he/she can suggest something which will improve it before your prom!

Yeah, see your GP. I was put on Tetralysal antibiotics and it took over a year to clear fully. Also, be aware it's not a good idea to take antibiotics for long periods as it can kill off good bacteria in the body.

For your prom, I would cover the acne with concealer.
