Hi I have got these spots on my back and shoulder for years and it is now spreading. Anyone knows what it is? The doctors don't understand what it is and have given me all kinds of antibiotics and creams to try but none has worked so far. Please suggest anything you know. Thank you very much.

I suggest that you could try a skin tonic concoction of tumeric cum cinnamon essence. It has strong anti inflammation capability. You only need to apply it once , it is either it will heal and if not , no need to apply further.
I have same marks on my shoulders and at my back. I went to GP, first time he diagnosed as dandruff and recommended medical shampoo for skin. I used it for more than a month but no improvement.
Second time I booked with another GP and he said its kind of Acne and he gave me antibiotics (Lymacycline) but it did not work again.
its on my arms for 2-4 years ...now I'm kind of fed up...
Are you sure they're not heat spots or something to do with hair follicles? Have you ever had back waxed?
Thank you guys so much for your input. I will try everything possible.
Could be keratosis pilaris rubra (like the bumps commonly on backs of people's arms) but can happen at other sites and with redness, try comparing with pics on dermnet NZ dermnetnz.org/acne/keratosi...
I had this on my upper arms/shoulders and it disappeared after a year. I think it started when I decided to shave the hair off. Are you shaving or waxing!?
Just wondering if you have tried calamine cream? Not as messy as calamine lotion which was the treatment of choice for chicken pox spots? It's not pricey and you could try on a wee sample area. And please don't cry, though i know how much I sometimes want to about my eczema. This forum is full of lovely people who know how awful it is to have skin stuff going on.
