Anyone taking medication here can ask me a question, is it true that SSRIs harm libido?

MEDICATION

I can't tell from personal experience because I don't take SSRIs, but I read somewhere they may cause weight gain and a reduced sex drive.
yes. Harder to have an orgasm
This is a question that should be answered by a medication prescriber or a pharmacist. I am not either one of these but I have learned from psychiatrists that specialize in OCD that this potential side effect doesn’t apply equally to all SSRIs.
From my experience, SSRI's affected my libido slightly. However, I was put on Wellbutrin and that definitely increased it. I am a man though, so it may be different for women. Like others have said SSRI's tend to effect people differently.
I'm currently on an SNRI and that has had a significant impact on my libido. Hope this helps.
I've been on an SSRI - sertraline - for around 18 years and it hasn't affected me like that.
Different people respond to medication in different ways - each of us has a different physiology. I know that SSRIs can affect the libido, but this isn't always the case.
I've had relatively few side effects with sertraline. But I can't make any promises that you won't get side effects. The only way to find out is to try it.
There are a number of different SSRIs and if you don't get on with one, then perhaps you can try another.
I took clomipramine for many years - I found it very effective against OCD, but it did make me feel dopey and drowsy constantly.
I am taking Venlafaxine and I have dry mouth and very disturbing dreams... But it's nothing compared to being with OCD in full force
