What to do when you can't follow a conversation

I want to talk to people more, but no matter how much I take the time to stop and listen I can't quite give any input on it because of my ocd urges. On social media, I get caught up in between reading paragraphs and waiting to respond, and usually have to invade or interrupt a conversation in order to respond to what was going on.

Are you getting any help for your ocd?

No, not yet. I'm doing some rituals and I've been recommended some books about ocd but I'm practically waiting for therapy at the moment.
