I am looking for treatment for my daughter who is struggling with body dysmorphia. She is currently inpatient as the depression over her thoughts got to be too much. We are looking for the next step. Has anyone had a healing experience with Rogers, timberline knolls, retreat at shephard, Pratt, McLean hospital, turn bridge, the retreat in PA or Austin Riggs
Or anything or anyone else. Many thanks for any insights.

Hi Abbycat1....I am so sorry that your daughter is struggling. I know exactly what you are going through. My daughter also suffers from BDD. The ONLY place that helped her, literally saved her life, was the OCDI at McLean Hospital in MA. She was there about 4 years ago. Their program was exceptional, with the best therapists and doctors. We tried Timberline Knolls before learning of McLean. They were the worst for her. They seem to cater to eating disorders, which BDD is not! I wish you both the best. I hope and pray that she will be able to find the help she needs.
thank you so much. I was able to speak to the kind people at McLean who recommended treated the depression first as she isn’t stable for their program at this time. She is in patient in a dbt program for depression. With plans for McLean once stabilized I am so glad your child is doing well. Thank you for sharing with me
