Hi. I feel like I need to go out every afternoon exactly 5:00 - 6:30 pm in between these times to see and feel the sun. When I think of not going or not going at all I feel anxious. So I did what I learned from videos and reading about OCD that you need to do the opposite. It was so hard the first time and after that I was able to do so for few days with the help of my husband. Then I had one day where I left home and went out for less than an hour one afternoon and when I came back, the next day felt anxious again. I am able to fight now but I still feel anxious (although) it lessened) I still feel anxious again. It went back to feeling scared again. I’m doing the right thing right? I just need to do it over and over again? Until fear will go completely? Do the opposite which means I need to stay home? Do you really experience some relapse? I was feeling good the first week before I went out again (mayeb out of compulsion but Im making an excuse to buy something outside) that’s why I had a relapse. I need to go out once I feel like no fear anymore.

Hello! I'm still new here and learning how to manage ocd, so I don't feel like I can offer advice personally. Just wanted to say you're not alone in the struggles even though it can definitely feel like that. OCD is so controlling and it can feel very isolating. It's great to hear you have been working on some new ways to work with fears and anxiety about your ocd. I can say that I've noticed setbacks too. Like when I take one step forward then it feels like 5 steps back. That can be discouraging and that's why ocd is so hard. It wants to win and keep controlling. So we keep trying. I hope you're doing ok and being kind to yourself even in those hard times.
