Anxiety will go when you don't give in to compulsions, right? It will eventually go?

I want to know since it's very hard to control and not give in to the compulsions, that the extreme fear or worry or uneasiness will go eventually when you don't give in to compulsions. I know it helps big time as I read comments and stories but in the long run.

How about that particular moment when you are having anxiety during a compulsion and you are trying to resist it? Will it go eventually like in a few minutes? hours? What do you do if you are in the midst of resisting? How do you calm yourself and not get in the verge of panic or worrisome that you are still able to do your daily tasks? I want to stop doing the compulsions and the urges but I am unable to focus in doing my daily household tasks or even work and it prevents me from actually doing what I want to do or enjoy doing.

Any advise on how to handle compulsions when it's happening and you want to resist it?

Thank you and God Bless!

Hi . I'm the same as you and am finding it really hard to fight the compulsions because of the anxiety . I've been told to use the delay tactic as in put off doing the compulsion as long as possible even if its only 10 seconds it all should help are you on any medication ?
