feeling bad, need support (disorders suddenly returned)

isthereasweeterplace profile image

it's been a long time since I wrote here.

lately I felt quite normal. but today I had some kind of attack of all my bad conditions.

today I cried a lot, and now it is 4:40 am, but I have some kind of an excited state, and also I caught an attack of trichotilomania and OCD (whatever I do, elementary actions, OCD comes).

I wanted to write to my boyfriend (he didn’t sleep now), share these problems. but I feel ashamed, I don't think he should know this side of me (even though he knows that I've had these problems before).

need support 💔

I am sorry that you are going through a difficult time.

I am here to give you support and help.

I can relate to you about having OCD symptoms.

It gets frustrating and depressing.

When difficult times come, they will go away eventually.

There will be better times, when you will feel better.

I wish you peace, good health in life.

Take Care.

Yes, I understand what you mean.

I have a relative going through a life-threatening illness right now and I'm feeling very anxious, causing other OCD symptoms to pop up and bug me. I tell myself this is happening because of being triggered.

Do you have breathing and mindfulness exercises? It may help you calm down a bit so you can relax.

Also remind yourself this is OCD and to do your ERP (do you know how to do the ERP??) Dig into your "tools" to help you get through this time. It's OK. You can do it.

That all sounds really difficult! I know that OCD waxes and wanes over the course of life, but knowing that doesn't make living that reality any easier. I know that when I'm doing good and then all of sudden start spiraling, I go into a really bad place. Then I start feeling hopeless and like there's no point to trying at all.

Something that I read recently that was really helpful were the following two OCD recovery stories because they're about how the process of managing one's mental health is never truly over. It just helped me feel less alone and made me feel like it's okay to not be okay:

Also, while this may not be where you're at in your relationship with your boyfriend, going through this book with him might be a helpful way to get on the same page:

I hope this helps!

I am sorry you are going through this. Take one step at a time one day at a time. Most importantly you are not alone. Reach out to someone maybe not your boyfriend but someone you can trust. Trust me it will be a lot better. You don't have to do this alone. Thanks for sharing this with us.
