Severe OCD with major depression

Hello-I have been struggling with OCD since I was a kid(I am 51). Currently, I am cycling through an episode of severe OCD and major depression. SSRi's have worked in the past but aren't effective anymore. I have great support and work with a ERP therapist as well. I would like some feedback from those who have suffered with OCD and MDD. What strategies have helped you cope with having a dual diagnosis. I would also like some words of encouragement that things will get better. I am feeling desperate and very hopeless during this time.

I am also dealing with severe OCD right now and the depression that comes with it. My long term ssri was not working as well anymore either, so I added Wellbutrin. It works on dopamine rather than serotonin and has helped a lot. It might be something to ask about. It's been a long couple months but I'm slowly clawing my way back to functional. Keep going to therapy and maybe try some different meds, there are tons of options. I find intense exercise where I actually break a sweat and have sore muscles also helps a lot to reduce my anxiety. Keep doing what you can to get better. I know it's exhausting, but there's not much else to do about it. This too shall pass.
