Buspar and anxiety

Has anyone had luck taking Buspar for high anxiety?

Hi there! This is so wierd your post popped up becuase I was just taking Busbar for my OCD not long ago. I've tried many different medications, some antidepressants and antipsychotics and I know Buspar isnt technically considered either of those, it's in it's own category so I figured it was worth trying. Also my uncle has OCD and it helped him a lot. However I didn't find it to do much for me, I even went up to the highest dose which I believe is 60mg. But medications have not been successful in the past for me either, so it could honestly just be my body. You could have very positive results! I dont know if you feel this way, but it can be frustrating trying different medications when none of them seem to help. but it's worth trying to see if it will make a difference. How does your psychiatrist feel about it?

It works well for depression but not ocd. It is also good for weight loss.

Buspar never worked for me, nor did any SSRI’s and I tried a few. I’m now taking Ativan and that works amazingly for me. I hope you find something that works for you.
