I am new here! Wondering if anyone has intrusive thoughts that are effecting their life, such as insomnia and not being able to focus.

Hi. I try to keep myself busy, and try not to let my ocd have control over me. I try to speak back to it, for example if its not letting me go to sleep, I'll argue back to it and tell it to give me some peace. Remember you are stronger than your ocd! Keep going, you can get through this!

I would like to welcome you to the OCD Support Network.

We are here to help and offer hope to each other.

We are in this together.

I have been suffering from intrusive thoughts also.

When an obsessive thought arrives, sit with the anxiety, and the feared consequences.

The anxiety will be high in the beginning, but it will get lower.

Relabel the thought as OCD.

Do not interact or argue with the thought.

The thought will lose importance, and slowly fade away.

I know this is not easy, but we have to just keep trying.

Wishing you good health.

Hi there! Welcome!! I have Health OCD and yes, has affected my focus and quality of sleep enormously. It's part of the "party" of having a stress disorder I guess

Yes Its a nightmare. To sleep I use a small dosage of trezadone. I manage to get a few hours of sleep even after I wake up a few times. During the day the intrusive thoughts just bombard me. Its very tough. keeping busy when you are in bad health as well is not easy. I feel I am loosing the battle most of the time.
