What can you take to increase seretonin levels to help with your ocd. Are there vitamins or powders to help increase the seretonin levels?

I've been off medication for almost a year now - basically, in my case: antidepressants had run their course in terms of their usefulness, and so I stopped taking them following the recommendation and under the supervision of my psychiatrist - and now take Vitamins B and D, Omega 3 and a probiotic. None of them produce seratonin, per se, but there's research linking Vitamin B/D and Omega 3 to healty brain function, and you'll also find compelling evidence that links gut health with brain health. You might also want to google "OCD diet," where you'll find some good ideas on "mental health diets." If I can offer two pieces of advice: pump up the greens and cut WAY back on processed sugars.

I take products from the juice plus company. They are fruits and veggies grown organically, vine ripened, non gmo, that are mixed and put into capsules. Loads of easy antioxidants. I also take omegas from them and vitamin d3 and a b complex. These have helped tremendously as well as trying to eat fairly well (this can also become a compulsion if I’m not careful) and I run for exercise. None of it is perfect (which is good) but super helpful to maintain normalcy. I also take a low dose of lexapro. Blessings 💖💖

I take lexapro too but no matter how hard I try I can’t help but to give into my compulsions. And I was diagnosed with adhd and depression in high school, so I don’t know if makes it harder to get over my ocd
