Dawn

Purge some words, release. I put them on a page. Might their escape provide some respite while I journey through this maze. So tired yet no sleeping. While eyes burn in my head. Thoughts and fears won’t let me be. Just toss and turn instead.

Where has my resolve gone? I had a panoply of it before. Now most days it ebbs away and is not replaced by more. Falling heavy now, I’ve no self-control of tears. My mind continues to reminisce A cherished archive of past years.

Then for the ‘if onlys’ That torment like no other. If only you could speak and we could talk together. Instead I have to guess what I think that you are saying. Trying to decipher the gestures you’re displaying. A new dawn begins to infiltrate. Finally the dark night is at its end.

Wash my face, blow my nose, as this new day begins.

Sending love - Edel x
